  • Why you always disturb my trivia? My trivia is always factual, you know? I am an otaku from Indonesia

    • May I step in and weigh in my 2 cents?

Firstly, your trivia is often just "Trivia for the sake of Trivia" Ichika, in the short time I've been here I've already spotted it.

Take for instance the character comparisons... Even within the franchise, you should be sparing with such trivia because it implies without fact all characters are based on each other. Truth is their being written on a popular formula and therefore will constantly have repetition. IT almost feels pointless at times to note these things, and should only be done so if there is a valid reason.

Now Baihu Xiao being alikened to Ray Kon is considered a reference because there is proof several members of the group he is with are tributes to older characters. But scattered comparisons throughout the entire franchise across all the series may not be anything worth noting at all.

Before yu have a go at me, bare in mind I have been on multiple wikias and been editing them since 2004. I started editing Wikipedia in 2002. I have some experience behind me of dozens of wikias and I sort of know when trivia is sometimes being added just to fluff out a trivia section.

Bare in mind, a trivia section should be regarded only as a temporary holding place for information that is valuable, but currently has nowhere else to go on the page. Ergo, if it doesn't sound like it could even fit in with the rest of the text on a page if there was a place for it, then it shouldn't be noted at all.

Also since I'm talking about it... Trivia is considered non-essential to a wiki page, as are images. We add images because there are sometimes times a need to demonstrate what words cannot alone describe. For example we can describe Driger as a white tiger with green stripes and gold adornments, but then any such creature could be viewed as driger.

Wikipedia did away for trivia because it felt it had no importance and if it couldn't fit on the page wasn't worth the mention.

Both these things are not considered either way essential... This wikia, as everyone of them, can live without trivia, maybe not all without images. But trivia, yes, you can remove them all if you take wikipedias stance. I don't agree with the removal of them though as I myself like them. In Wikipedia's case, it was a event that occurred because their an encyclopedia and therefore trivia makes moot the point of themselves calling them that as it doesn't fit in with their site.

One also doesn't own a trivia section so... When someone removes trivia its not a disaster and honestly... If someone else thinks its not worth having, perhaps you should consider that maybe their right?

    • I removed the trivia because this is a Beyblade Wiki and it was content that isn't relevant to Beyblade. Unless something is an intentional reference, accidental similarities are not information - they are a subjective judgement.

Characters will share names and kanji, it is not a real connection. My name is Luna but that doesn't make me any more or less related to all the people out there who are called Luisa, simply because we both have "Lu" in our names.

And comparing characters to other characters from a different show is simply not information. What people perceive as similar is different from person to person. And what is the information for? It has no use.

As for factual, I'd have to disagree. You wrote that Zac is mistaken for a girl, which never actually happens on the show.

I'm sorry for causing you distress, and I will leave the trivia alone if you insist on adding it again because I'm not interested in an editing war, but I stand by my stance that it's not relevant. The comment above by Angel is also a good explanation of it.
