Metal Fight Beyblade (メタルファイトベイブレード Metaru Faito Beiburēdo), is a Japanese manga created by Takafumi Adachi, serialized in Shogakukan's monthly magazine CoroCoro Comic between September 2008 and February 2012.

The first 6 volumes received an official English release in Singapore under the title Metal Fight Beyblade, the original Japanese title of the manga. This is consistent with other Asian releases of the manga in other languages.

International releases in territories where the toyline is handled by Hasbro roughly match the title of the manga to the corresponding anime season; for example, volumes with Big Bang Bladers were released as Beyblade: Metal Masters.

For the sake of consistency, the Beyblade Wiki uses Metal Fight Beyblade, as it is consistent with the only official English release, and avoids separating a singular manga into different named series.

Information[]

In the monthly CoroCoro comics, the chapters do not have specific chapter titles and are grouped by story arc name and chapter number instead. The chapter names are only in the Shinshoban manga volumes. The individual chapters are collected by Shogakukan in a series of Shinshōbon volumes.

Synopsis[]

The story follows the Blader, Ginga Hagane on his adventures with his incredibly powerful beyblade Pegasus which he uses to fight against the forces of evil that threaten the world of Beyblade.

Manga & Anime Differences[]

The anime version of Metal Fight Beyblade's plot is written differently than in the manga. A notable difference is that in the manga, the characters started off with the Metal System Beys while in the anime they started with the Hybrid Wheel System. While initially starting with a similar plot, the importance of characters began to diverge heavily as the story progressed. Some anime and manga counterparts share only a name and character design.

Significant changes:

  • Character ages may differ between manga and anime. According to Takafumi Adachi, he is not sure that Gingka is an adult at the time of Shogun Steel in the anime. It is also mentioned in the first chapter of the manga that Kenta is in fifth grade, which means he is 10-11 years old.
  • Tsubasa in the manga is less dark than his anime counterpart, and his relationship and teamwork with Yu is significantly better than in the anime. Also in the manga, they are very friendly with Reiji.
  • Ryutaro's design has undergone major changes, in the manga he had protruding teeth while he looked different in the anime.
  • Kyoya in the manga is weaker than his anime counterpart as he lost to Masamune. He's also friendlier.
  • Ziggurat is not in the manga, the role of the leader of Hades Inc. has Faust.
  • Sora and Ryutaro have a large role in the manga, when they appear quite rarely in the anime. Ironically, Tsubasa and Yu have the opposite situation.
  • Damian appears after the world championship, when in the anime his fate after the Metal Masters arc remained unknown.
