Energy Layer: Nepstrius N2
Main article: Energy Layer - Nepstrius N2
Nepstrius N2, like its predecessor Nepstrius, is a Balance Type Energy Layer that has an overall round shape. Its design consists of six sloped wave-like blades; three of which are large and are made of clear plastic, and the other three are smaller and are made of colored plastic. Unlike Nepstrius; in which two sideways heads on either side are featured in the center, the center of Nepstrius N2 features two downward profile faces on either side; with one of them wearing a crown, representing the Layer's Takara Tomy namesake; Neptune, the god of the sea in Roman Mythology.
Unlike its Takara Tomy predecessor Neptune, Nepstrius N2 has some recoil due to the shape of its sloped blades. As such, it does not have as much Defense capabilities as Neptune. While it is decent in terms of Stamina, other Layer such as Jormuntor J2/Silver-X Jormuntor J4 and Dark Deathscyther are better options. Furthermore, Nepstrius N2 also has sub-par Attack, making it outclassed and ill-suited for Attack Combinations as well.
For the Takara Tomy release of Nova Neptune, its four teeth further aggravate this issue; three of which are short in length, and only the second-to-last tooth is medium in length. This creates a high Burst risk that can be greatly reduced through the use of Performance Tips with a strong spring such as Zephyr' or Destroy'. Despite the release of these Performance Tips, due to Nova Neptune's weak performance, it is rendered outclassed by its predecessor Neptune.
Forge Disc: Heavy
Main article: Forge Disc - Heavy
Heavy is a primarily circular Forge Disc, sporting a ring-like shape with numerous ridges on its interior that is interrupted by four rectangular protrusions designed to look like armored plates. As its name suggests, Heavy was the heaviest Forge Disc in the Burst System for a considerable period of time, until Gravity, which also weighs 21.6 grams, and Quarter, which weighs 21.8 grams were released. Despite this, Heavy is still one of the heaviest Forge Discs in the game, making it a popular choice for many Bladers. As its weight is a welcome asset to nearly any Beyblade, it enjoys a wide variety of uses on Combinations of all types. Heavy's high weight and compact shape gives it a Centralized Weight Distribution, making it particularly useful for Burst Attack as it will maximize the RPM of the Beyblade. This same weight distribution also makes it considerably more difficult to Burst than Gravity, the other disc in its weight class, at the cost of a significant amount of Stamina. Because of this, it is a better option for a KO Defense Combination than Gravity as KO Defense Combinations rely on high friction and weight to remain in the stadium, at the same time increasing their vulnerability to Bursting. However, due to its weight, Heavy is still more prone to Bursting than most lighter competitive Forge Discs such as Spread, Knuckle, and Armed.
Performance Tip: Press
Main article: Performance Tip - Press
Press features a ball-shaped tip, much like Defense, but differs by having four significantly wider tabs around its tip compared to Defense's. In theory, these tabs will force the Beyblade back into an upright position after being knocked off balance and act as brakes to prevent KOs by striking against the stadium floor at the cost of Stamina. While such an effect does occur, the wider tabs create greater Stamina drain than Defense's with little to no improvement on stability and KO resistance. The top portion of Press also has four wall protrusions with a spike in the center on the sides of the Performance Tip, but hold no real purpose other than a slight source of Stamina loss, since they can also scrape along the stadium floor and are too low to be struck by any Burst System Beyblade.
