Nova Neptune Jerk Impact (ノヴァネプチューン・ジャーク・インパクト, Noba Nepuchūn Jāku Inpakuto) is an Attack Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dual Layer System. It was released in Japan on December 28th, 2016 for 972円 as one of eight possible Beyblades in Random Booster Vol. 5 Gigant Gaia.Q.F.

Energy Layer - Nova Neptune[]

Main article: Energy Layer - Nova Neptune

Takara Tomy's Nova Neptune, like its predecessor Neptune, is a Balance Type Energy Layer that has an overall round shape. Its design consists of six sloped wave-like blades; three of which are large and are made of clear plastic, and the other three are smaller and are made of colored plastic. Unlike Neptune; in which two sideways heads on either side are featured in the center, the center of Nova Neptune features two downward profile faces on either side; with one of them wearing a crown, representing the Layer's namesake; Neptune, the god of the sea in Roman Mythology.

Unlike its predecessor Neptune, Nova Neptune has some recoil due to the shape of its sloped blades. As such, it does not have as much Defense capabilities as Neptune. While it is decent in terms of Stamina, other Layers such as Dark Deathscyther are better options. Furthermore, Nova Neptune also has sub-par Attack, making it outclassed and ill-suited for Attack Combinations as well.

Nova Neptune's four teeth further aggravate this issue; three of which are short in length, and only the second-to-last tooth is medium in length. This creates a high Burst risk that can be greatly reduced through the use of Performance Tips with a strong spring such as Zephyr' or Destroy'. Despite the release of these Performance Tips, due to Nova Neptune's weak performance, it is rendered outclassed by its predecessor Neptune.

Forge Disc - Jerk[]

Main article: Forge Disc - Jerk

Jerk is a round, thick and symmetrical Forge Disc that features a round perimeter made of soft plastic that's attached to the Forge Disc via screws, akin to Magnum and Polish. The soft plastic perimeter features two shield-like bumpers that are placed behind the Forge Disc's prongs. Unlike most Forge Discs, Jerk features a "Bound Defense" gimmick; in this case, the bumpers are designed to push inwards.

Upon impact, during Disc-to-Layer contact, the bumpers will theoretically bend inwards to absorb the shock of the impact and reduce recoil. In practice, this gimmick is rather dysfunctional. First, due to how rare Disc-to-Layer contact occurs, Jerk will rarely make contact with the opponent. Second, Jerk is rather hollow, creating poor Stamina despite the Forge Disc being round in shape. Lastly, the soft plastic bumpers hardly have any flexibility. This, combined with the Forge Disc's short distance between the stadium floor makes Jerk unsuitable for Defense and Stamina Combinations.

Performance Tip - Impact[]

Main article: Performance Tip - Impact

Impact is an Attack Type Performance Tip that features a star shaped rubber tip with three points. The plastic of the Performance Tip extends between these three points on the rubber tip, filling in the space.

However, the two different surfaces makes Impact difficult to control and effectively reduces its Stamina, as the two different surfaces are contacting the stadium floor simultaneously, worsening the friction between the Performance Tip and the stadium floor. The constant change in surface effectively halts the Performance Tip: speeding up with the rubber, then slowing down with the plastic, and so forth. Because of this, Impact is not recommended for any Combination.
