| “ | PERFORMANCE TIP™ Determines movement patterns - whether the top tends to spin defensively in one place or roam aggressively, spiraling into repeated attacks. |

—Beyblade Metal Masters Rule Book | ||
Within the Beyblade Performance Top System™, the Performance Tip is the component of the Beyblade that determines movement patterns.
Description
Performance Tips, like other components in the Performance Tops System, are interchangeable and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Depending on the type of Performance Tip equipped, the Beyblade™ Performance Top™ will behave drastically different while in action in the Beystadium.
Similar to how Customize Engine Weights functioned with first generation Beyblade Engine Gear Systems, Performance Tips provided players (Bladers) with the option of customizing the movement style of their Beys without having to change the Spin Track.

Spin Track/Performance Tips
Featured in Hasbro's Hyperblade and Legends product line, the "Spin Track/Performance Tip" is a variety of Performance Tip that uses a special fused design that incorporates elements of the Spin Track with the functionality of the Performance Tip. Originally referred to as "4D Bottoms", Hasbro instead simplifies the terminology to "Performance Tip" only.
Trivia
- Hasbro modified Performance Tips for releases in the Metal Masters toyline onwards, which added additional plastic to the area where it connected to the Spin Track, which was intended to reduce breakage. This also adds a miniscule amount of weight.
