Drift-SP is a Performance Tip released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the SpeedStorm System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the Motor Strike Battle Set.
Description
Drift-SP is Hasbro's SpeedStorm version of Takara Tomy's Drift Performance Tip, and thus features a similar round and wide shape. Unlike its regular counterpart, Drift-SP has a non-movable tip that lacks the ability to free spin, and is instead molded into the rest of the Performance Tip. In addition, the tip is no longer sharp, and has been flattened.
Like other SpeedStorm Performance Tips, Drift-SP is taller than the standard Performance Tip height, which makes it easier to Destabilize.
Overall
As Drift-SP retains its normal counterpart's round shape, it likewise features high Life-After-Death (LAD). However, with the loss of the free spinning sharp tip, its Stamina performance has been reduced significantly. Furthermore, its overall usefulness is hindered by its restriction to Hasbro Energy Layers, which are heavily outclassed in the current metagame.
As such, Drift-SP is recommended for collection purposes only.
