Hole Flat/Spike or Hole Flat/Sharp is a Performance Tip released by Takara Tomy. It debuted in Japan with the release of the BB-37 Random Booster Light Vol. 2 on May 23, 2009, and in western countries with the release of the BB-37 Starter Pack Storm Aquario 100HF/S in August 2010.

Description

Hole Flat/Spike is an unique Performance Tip with a mode change gimmick. At the time of its release, it was the tallest Performance Tip available. The tip can be changed in between battles, from Hole Flat to Spike. This is done by rotating the lower potion of the Performance Tip, and is intended to allow players to adapt their strategy between battles. While in its Spike mode, it has balance issues due to its taller height. In Hole Flat mode, while it is taller and wider than a regular Hole Flat, it suffers from stability issues due to its height.

Overall

Although Hole Flat/Sharp has an interesting mode change gimmick, 4D Bottoms and other later Performance Tips released have outclassed Hole Flat/Spike.

As such, Hole Flat/Spike is recommended for collection purposes only.
