This article is about Jolt-S. For its normal counterpart, see Performance Tip - Jolt.

Jolt-S is a Performance Tip released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the SlingShock System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the SlingShock Starter Pack Luinor L4 13 Jolt-S.

Jolt-S is a rubber-based Performance Tip that features a wide rubber-flat tip, akin to a mix between Xtreme and Metal Fight Beyblade's Extreme Flat, unlike the standard Jolt, which is a mix of Xtreme and Spiral. As a part of the SlingShock System, Jolt-S has a manual mode-change, allowing it to switch from "Battle Ring Mode" to "SlingShock Mode".

In "Battle Ring Mode", Jolt-S performs on its rubber-flat tip. Due to the surface area to friction ratio, Jolt-S will create a highly aggressive, and if launched with a Banking Shoot, somewhat easily controllable movement pattern. In terms of speed, the greater surface area makes Jolt-S faster than Xtreme and as fast as Merge when launched or struck at an angle. Jolt-S’ high speed allows for strong attacks and its high friction creates less chances of losing a Banking Pattern in battle, making it one of the better choices for Attack Combinations.

In "SlingShock Mode", there is no change in the tip itself, aside from an increase in height. Because of this, "SlingShock Mode" only creates a high risk of Destabilization due to the aforementioned increase in height. Of the two modes, "Battle Ring Mode" has the greater success.

Like any other rubber-based Performance Tip, Jolt-S has three major weaknesses:

Firstly, the high friction of the rubber means that Jolt-S has incredibly low Stamina. Furthermore, the light weight of the Burst System compared to previous Systems means that there is less inertia, exacerbating the Stamina issue further, unless heavy Forge Discs such as 0 are used along with Jolt-S.

Secondly, the high friction also means that Jolt-S resists changes to the Beyblade's spin from contact with the opponent, thus more force is transferred the slopes in Hasbro's Energy Layers, increasing the chances of Self-Bursts.

Lastly, Jolt-S will wear down with use. While this can create an initial benefit in speed from the tip fitting into the curvature of the Stadium, heavy use will decrease its aggression with little to no improvement to the tip's Stamina, meaning that multiple copies much be purchased in order to replace worn ones.

Unlike Takara Tomy's Jolt, Hasbro's Jolt-S does not feature the six spikes and is instead wider to create greater aggression, though the six spikes are engraved onto the rubber tip to simulate the appearance of the standard Jolt.

While Hasbro's Jolt-S lacks the spikes of Takara Tomy's Jolt, it has very similar performance in "Battle Ring Mode".

As such, Jolt-S is a must have for competitive bladers of the Hasbro-Only Format but is recommended for collection purposes only for competitive bladers of the Standard Format.
