Metal Drift (メタルドリフト, Metaru Dorifuto) is a Performance Tip released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-190 Beyblade Dynamite Battle All-in-One Set on October 2nd, 2021.
Description
Metal Drift is a wide, round Performance Tip with an octagonal shape and a low angled, free spinning, conical sharp tip. It is the Metal Lock Driver version of the Drift Performance Tip, featuring a Metal Lock and a stronger spring, increasing weight and Burst Resistance. The Metal Lock has shorter tabs than standard and Dash Locks, resulting in lower Burst Resistance, despite the stronger spring.
The sharp tip of Metal Drift creates low friction with the stadium floor, resulting in high Stamina and Burst Defense. In addition, the wide diameter of the free spinning sharp tip helps maintain stability. These factors, combined with the overall round shape of Metal Drift, creates high Life-After-Death (LAD), and works particularly well against Opposite-Spin opponents.
Overall
Due to its high Stamina, Burst Defense, and Life-After-Death (LAD), Metal Drift is an excellent Performance Tip for Defense and Stamina Type Combinations, particularly against Opposite-Spin opponents. The Metal Lock further increases its weight when compared to Drift, trading Burst Resistance. As such, it is recommended to use DB Cores such as Bahamut and Kerbeus to maximize Burst Resistance for a Combination.
As such, Metal Drift is a must have for competitive bladers.
