Metal Universe (メタルユニバース, Metaru Yunibāsu) is a Performance Tip released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-191 Overdrive Special Starter Set on October 2nd, 2021.

Description

A Defense Type Driver with improved performance with reinforced springs and a Metal Lock cap. The large hemispherical tip and outer ring rotate freely and keep the Beyblade from easily falling over.
— Official Description

Metal Universe is the Metal Lock Driver version of the Universe Performance Tip. As such, it features a Metal Lock and a stronger spring, increasing weight and Burst Resistance. The Metal Lock has shorter tabs than standard and Dash Locks, resulting in lower Burst Resistance, despite the stronger spring.

Like Universe, it is a Defense Type Performance Tip that features a free spinning wide hemispherical ball tip with a free spinning outer ring. In theory, the wide ball tip would increase Knock-Out (KO) Defense by having greater surface area and friction. However, in practice the free spin of the wide ball tip reduces KO Defense. The free spinning outer ring is intended to keep the Metal Universe combination upright after being knocked off balance, as well as acting as brakes to prevent Knock-Outs. Compared to Universe, Metal Universe's ring and wide ball tip spin more freely.

Due to the large surface area of the wide ball tip, Metal Universe will typically circle around the ridge of the stadium when hard launched, resulting in a Self Knock-Out. However, this issue is not present in larger stadiums such as the Beystadium DB Standard Type. This weakness means Metal Universe should only be launched softly in smaller stadiums, and use against Same-Spin Opponents should be avoided.
