This article is about Zephyr-Q. For its normal counterpart, see Performance Tip - Zephyr.

Zephyr-Q is a Performance Tip released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the QuadDrive System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the Magma Roktavor R7 and Gilded Balderov B7 Dual Pack.

Description

Zephyr-Q is Hasbro's QuadDrive counterpart to the Zephyr Performance Tip, and thus features a hollow plastic flat tip with a small diameter. Like its normal counterpart, this design creates an aggressive movement pattern, which can be controlled by launching at an angle. Its speed is comparable to that of Accel, capable of reaching and stalling on the Tornado Ridge. Like other plastic flat tips, Zephyr-Q can lose its Banking Pattern somewhat easily, and the low friction means that Zephyr-Q is liable to Self-Knock-Outs.

Zephyr-Q features a slightly modified shape compared to its normal counterpart, and two attachment points to accommodate the use of an Armor Tip. Like all QuadDrive Performance Tips, an Armor Tip can be attached to Zephyr-Q, switching it to "Plus Mode". In this mode, Zephyr-Q is essentially replaced by the Armor Tip, and the height becomes similar to a SpeedStorm Performance Tip.

Overall

Zephyr-Q features better control than rubber Performance Tips, but is generally outclassed by them, as they have greater speed. While the addition of the QuadDrive gimmick in theory adds versatility during battles, its performance is too outclassed by other normal Performance Tips, including the original Zephyr.

As such, Zephyr-Q is recommended for collection purposes only.
