The Phantom Hurricane (Japanese: 幻影(ファントム)爆風撃(ハリケーン)) is a Special Move that was introduced in the "Beyblade" graphic novel series and is used by Tyson Granger with his Dragoon Fighter. The move has also been featured in the "Beyblade" TV series.

Description

The Phantom Hurricane is portrayed differently across the graphic novel series, TV series, and video games.

In the "Beyblade" graphic novel series and its sequel series "Bakuten Shoot Beyblade: Rising", the move is depicted as a rapid duplication of an actively-spinning Beyblade using the rapid rotation generated the Beyblade to displace the air around it, produce afterimages. When the is move activated, the Bey can produce multiple clones at a time that scatter through the Beystadium from the user's Bey under the veil of a powerful wind storm. These wind clones act as decoys to redirect the attention of the enemy Blader and Bey from the user's Bey or can ally with the user's Bey for a direct assault.

In the "Beyblade" TV series, the move is presented as an enhanced version of the "Storm Attack"--Tyson's signature move for his Dragoon Storm Beyblade.

In various video game appearances, the move is portrayed differently across every title. In Bakuten Shoot Beyblade 2002: Gekisen! Team Battle!! Seiryu No Sho ~Takao-hen~ and Bakuten Shoot Beyblade 2002: Gekisen! Team Battle!! Oryū No Sho ~Daichi-hen~ video games for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, the Phantom Hurricane is presented as powerful charge and tackle. Attack animations for the move shows the Bit-Beast Dragoon arising from the Beyblade's Bit Chip for a vicious attack, which enshrouds the Bey inside a wind vortex.

At the climax of their heated Beybattle, Tyson counters Michael's Trygle Hyper Jump with the Phantom Hurricane, using it to ultimately win the battle.

In chapter 20 of the "Beyblade" manga, titled "The Final Arena", Tyson, along with other competitor from the Beyblade World Championship, venture to a remote island to battle the Demolition Boys after completely disrupting the competition. Aside from various henchman, Tyson and his Dragoon Fantom faces Ivan and his Bey Wyborg and using the Phantom Hurricane to defeat him. Tyson uses the move again later in the chapter during his Beybattle against Tala and his Bey Wolborg 2, but to no effect.

In chapter 33 of the "Beyblade" manga, titled "The Enemy's New Agent", Tyson and the Team Psykick Blader, Kane Yamashita, uses the move against each other with their Magnacore Beys, Dragoon Victory and Cyber Dragoon, respectively. In the ensuing battle, Tyson's Bey attacking Kane's Bey with the move, which Kane counters by switching to his Cyber Dragoon to "F Mode" allowing him to access the combat data of Tyson's previous Beys. Using this information, Kane immediately deploys his own Phantom Hurricane, effectively nullifying Tyson's assault.

In chapter 9 of the "Bakuten Shoot Beyblade: Rising" manga, titled "Advent of Wolborg", Tyson and Team Japan travel to Russia and encounter Tala and the Demolition Boys.
