Poison Hydra 8'Angle Fusion' Gen (ポイズンヒュドラ・エイトダッシュアングル・フュージョンダッシュ・幻, Poizun Hyudora Eito Dasshu Anguru Fyūjon Dasshu Gen), stylized as Poison Hydra 8'αngle Fusion' Gen', is a Balance Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Gatinko Layer System. It was released in Japan on February 22nd, 2020 for 660円 as one of eight possible Beyblades in Random Booster Vol. 19.

Gatinko Chip - Hydra

GatinkoChipHydra
Main article: Gatinko Chip - Hydra

Hydra is a right-spin Gatinko Chip that features five snake heads representing the Gatinko Chip's namesake, the Hydra, a serpentine monster from Greek mythology. Hydra has a standard weight for Gatinko Chips, and features three Locks that give it average Burst Resistance.

Hasbro's Cobra is virtually unchanged from Takara Tomy's Hydra, but manufactured with weaker materials.

Layer Weight - Gen

LayerWeightGen
Main article: Layer Weight - Gen

Gen, unlike other Layer Weights, is a small rubber piece, with one side featuring a triangular protrusion that serves as a Burst Stopper. In theory, it is meant to make a combination using this Layer Weight nearly unburstable. However, there is one huge downside to Gen: The combination using it loses a substantial amount of weight. Since this weight is lost from the Layer, this makes the increase in Burst Resistance less notable, as heavy Forge Discs will still skip teeth more on lighter Layers. Furthermore, this loss of weight decreases Stamina, Attack, and Defense potential in any sort of combination. The only practical use of Gen is to make Dread semi-functional, as without Gen, Dread is even more burst prone.

Layer Base - Poison

In-depth information for the Poison Layer Base will be placed here once drafting has been completed for it. Please be patient.

Forge Disc - 8'

Disk8'
Main article: Forge Disc - 8'

8', like other even numbered Core Discs, is symmetrical and elliptical in shape in order to facilitate a Disc Frame. 8' is essentially a wider and lighter version of 8, with higher Outward Weight Distribution (OWD) due to its wider shape. As a result, 8' has higher Stamina Potential than its predecessor. Like 8, 8' features four protrusions on each side. Each of the protrusions features gaps, akin to Knuckle, which takes weight away from the center and creates high Outward Weight Distribution. However, like other heavy Forge Discs with high Outward Weight Distribution, the use of 8' decreases Burst Resistance as a trade off.

Disc Frame - Angle

Angle (B-158)
Main article: Disc Frame - Angle

Angle is a triangular Disc Frame with small protrusions on its perimeter. Angle's shape grants it high Attack Potential when paired with Core Discs such as 7 and 00. However, Angle is notably lighter than other Attack Type Disc Frames such as Bump and Meteor, and is thus outclassed.

Despite being outclassed, Angle finds very specific usage with the Nightmare Longinus/Lúinor L3 Energy Layers. The Attack oriented shape of Angle not only compliments the Energy Layer, but also grants it greater Burst Resistance due to the way Angle sits on the Energy Layer.

Performance Tip - Fusion'

DriverFusion'
Main article: Performance Tip - Fusion'

Fusion', like its predecessor Fusion, features a plastic flat tip with a small diameter and a small protrusion in the center and sits at the standard height. The center of the Driver also contains an embossed logo featuring a stylized letter "F" for easy differentiation from other Drivers.

When launched parallel to the stadium, Fusion' will spin on the protrusion, creating a stable, Stamina-conserving spin. When knocked off balance by the opponent or launched at an angle, the flat tip will contact the stadium floor and create a movement pattern with the same speed as Accel before returning to balancing on the protrusion.

However the aggressive movement is unreliable as the protrusion can slow a Fusion' Combination down in the center of the stadium or stop the movement entirely. Furthermore, the small size of the protrusion means that when a Fusion' Combination slows down and lists, contact will be made with the flat base, severely reducing Stamina.

Unlike its predecessor, Fusion' features a much thicker spring in its locking mechanism, increasing Fusion''s Burst Resistance.
