Prominence Valkyrie Over Atomic'-0 (プロミネンスヴァルキリー・オーバー・アトミックダッシュ-0, Purominensu Varukirī Ōbā Atomikku Dasshu-0) is a Defense Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System. It was released as a Booster in Japan on February 5th, 2022 for 1650円.
DB Core - Valkyrie
- Main article: DB Core - Valkyrie 1
Takara Tomy's Valkyrie 1 (or simply Valkyrie) is a right-spin DB Core that features an armored face with a stylized V adorning the helmet, akin to its predecessors in the Valkyrie line. This design represents the DB Core's namesake, valkyries, Odin's handmaidens in Norse mythology. Valkyrie 1 is the first of two Valkyrie DB Cores, and has above average Burst Resistance.
Valkyrie 1 features a gimmick: when struck by an opponent, a built-in spring mechanism causes the DB Core to rebound, which allows a Valkyrie 1 combination to perform Bound Attacks. While in theory this improves Attack potential, in practice this gimmick is to the detriment of an Attack combination, as the rebound, combined with strong impacts, can cause the combination to Burst. It is thus better suited in Defense and Stamina combinations, where the gimmick increases Defense.
Blade - Prominence
- Main article: Blade - Prominence (Takara Tomy)
Takara Tomy's Prominence is a right-spin Defense Type Blade with a wide round perimeter. Like its predecessors, the Revive Phoenix and Dead Phoenix Cho-Z Layers, Prominence has the "Prominence Shield" attached to the Blade via a locking mechanism. The Prominence Shield can be attached vertically or horizontally; depending on the orientation, Prominence is either in "Normal Mode" or "Heavy Mode". In its Normal Mode, the Prominence Shield is easier to knock off during battle. The loss of the the Prominence Shield makes the Blade lighter, but the smoother perimeter created reduces the chance of a Burst. In its Heavy Mode, the Prominence Shield is more difficult to knock off as it is impeded by the Armor locking mechanism. When the Prominence Shield is knocked off and left in the Stadium, it can interfere with the opponent and impede Banking Patterns and reduce Stamina.
Due to its weight distribution, Prominence performs poorly against Same-Spin opponents utilizing popular right-spin Blades like Wind. Furthermore, if the Prominence Shield is knocked off, its Stamina is severely reduced. Prominence finds some use against left-spin Opposite-Spin opponents, and the Heavy Mode is recommended to avoid the reduction in Stamina.
The primary usage of Prominence is in pure Defense combinations against right-spin Attackers. The Prominence Shield will absorb much of the impact from attacks; although it can also be used against left-spin Attackers like Guilty, it is not as effective against left-spin Attackers as Blades such as Barricade. However, if the Prominence Shield is knocked off, Prominence is vulnerable to Knockout (KO) Attack.
Armor - 0
- Main article: Armor - 0
Takara Tomy's 0 is an Armor with a smooth, symmetrical design. This design creates a stable weight distribution and high Stamina, as the design does not have weight concentrated at any particular point, instead being evenly distributed. Like the 10 Armor, the 0 Armor is highly versatile and one of the most useful Armors, and finds the most use in Defense and Stamina combinations.
Forge Disc - Over
- Main article: Forge Disc - Over
Over is a circular DB Disc and one of the heaviest Forge Discs, with an ideal weight distribution for any combination. Its design is a homage to Oval and 0.
Over's circular design creates high Outward Weight Distribution (OWD) and Stamina potential. Due to its smooth circular perimeter, Over also has high Life-After-Death (LAD). Its heavy weight also grants it high Attack and Defense potential.
Performance Tip - Atomic'
- Main article: Performance Tip - Atomic'
Atomic' is a Performance Tip that features a free-rotating ball tip, akin to its predecessor Orbit, surrounded by a four-tabbed, free-spinning ring. Compared to Orbit, the ball of Atomic' is approximately 3.4 times larger in volume or 1.3 times wider in diameter. In theory, the wider tip would increase a Beyblade's Knock-Out Defense by having greater surface area and friction. However, in practice, the free-rotating nature of the ball reduces most of the Knock-Out Defense given by the surface area of the ball. Like all other ball-based Performance Tips, the tabs around Atomic' are meant to act as brakes against Knock-Outs at the cost of Stamina by striking against the stadium floor. However, the large diameter makes such contact rare. If hard launched, the greater surface area creates a semi-aggressive movement pattern early in the battle, bringing the Beyblade close to the Tornado Ridge.
While these features may imply that an Atomic' Combination would be easy to Knock-Out, the heavy weight of Energy Layers and Forge Discs released after the God Layer System, along with Atomic''s own weight, compensates for the rotating ball. Furthermore, the free-rotating ball increases the Burst Resistance of a Defense Combination.
In addition to its Defense properties, Atomic' features high Stamina and Spin-Equalization potential. The free-rotating nature of the ball reduces friction with the stadium floor, as the wide ball tip will keep a Combination stable and thus prevent scraping. The free-spinning ring also increases Life-After-Death (LAD).
Like other Dash Performance Tips, Atomic' features a stronger spring lock, increasing the Performance Tip's Burst Resistance.
