Fierce is a QS Blade released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the QuadDrive System and the QuadStrike System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the Fierce Bazilisk B8 and Hydra Kerbeus K8 Dual Pack.
Description
Hasbro's Fierce is a left-spin Stamina Type QS Blade with a round design reminiscent of the Roar QD Blade, albeit wider and heavier. Due to its round shape, Fierce is best suited for Stamina Combinations. Fierce can switch between Apex and Core Modes by swapping the position of the Gravity Ring from the top of the QS Blade (Apex) to below it (Core). Furthermore, the 4 and 4' Gravity Rings are recommended, as they are the heaviest Gravity Rings available, weighing 1.7 grams each.
Overall
Compared to Layers released by Takara Tomy in the Dynamite Battle Layer System, QuadStrike Layers like Fierce are too light to compete in the metagame.
As such, Fierce is not recommended for the WBO's Burst Format.
QuadStrike Layers like Fierce are generally outclassed in the format by heavier Takara Tomy/Pro Series Gatinko Layers. In the case of Fierce, Gatinko Layers such as Master are used for its role.
As such, Fierce is not recommended for the WBO's Burst GT format.
Due to its round shape, Fierce can be used effectively in Stamina combinations, in both Same-Spin and Opposite-Spin matchups. It is generally on par with Layers such as Takara Tomy's Geist Fafnir, but has a much lower Burst risk when used with a tight Drive/Strike Chip. In addition, the Hasbro Drivers commonly used with Fierce often have high Burst Resistance as well.
However, due to the heavy usage of right-spin QS Blades such as Gambit and Whirl, Fierce is not as prevalent, due to its mediocre Opposite-Spin performance against the aforementioned QS Blades, and lesser popularity of left-spin Layers in general resulting in fewer Same-Spin matchups.
As such, Fierce is not a must-have but a welcome addition for the WBO's Burst Limited format.
Fierce is not legal in the WBO's Burst Classic Format.
