Whirl is a QS Blade released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the QuadDrive System and the QuadStrike System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the QuadStrike Starter Pack, Whirl Knight K8 Tapered-Q Jaggy-Q+Bounce-2.

Description

Hasbro's Whirl is a right-spin Stamina Type QS Blade based on Takara Tomy's Wind BU Blade. Whirl has a round perimeter similar to its Takara Tomy counterpart, albeit reduced in diameter; Whirl is about the same size as its predecessor, Hasbro's Air Knight K4 Layer. Three small gaps separate the center from the perimeter, which are intended to increase Outward Weight Distribution (OWD) and Stamina.

Unlike its Takara Tomy counterpart, Whirl is a single plastic piece and does not have a mode change gimmick. Consequently, Whirl is unable to switch between "Upper Force Mode" and "Down Force Mode", instead being based on Wind's Upper Force Mode. In theory air enters downwards through the three gaps, creating Upper Force that lifts the Beyblade upwards off the Stadium floor, decreasing the friction between the bottom of the Driver and the Stadium floor to increase Stamina. In practice however, the effects of the Upper Force are negligible, and the gimmick creates air resistance when the Whirl combination is spinning. Furthermore, when compared to Wind, Whirl has smaller gaps, decreasing the already minor effect. Like other QD and QS Blades, Whirl can switch between Apex and Core Modes by swapping the position of the Gravity Ring from the top of the QS Blade (Apex) to below it (Core).
