Roktavor R2 Gravity Revolve, known as Rising Ragnaruk Gravity Revolve (ライジングラグナルク・グラビティ・リボルブ, Raijingu Ragunaruku Gurabiti Riboribu) in Japan, is a Stamina Type Beyblade released as part of the Burst System as well as the Dual Layer System. It was released as a Booster in Japan on April 2nd, 2016 for 972円 and was later released in western countries as a Starter Pack for CAD$14.99 in Canada, USD$9.99 in the United States, and AUD$18.99 in Australia.

Energy Layer - Roktavor R2

Main article: Energy Layer - Roktavor R2
Roktavor R2 is a Stamina Type Energy Layer that features an elliptical shape akin to its predecessor Roktavor. Like its predecessor, the Layer's wings are molded into the visage of a head on either side, matching the anime's rendition of the Layer's beast; a winged demon. The placement of these wings is where the majority of the Layer's weight is, creating a high Outward Weight Distribution and Flywheel Effect which bolsters Roktavor R2's Stamina. While this may imply high Stamina potential, these wings also make up the primary points of contact, creating a recoil heavy design that severely diminishes the Stamina benefits of its Outward Weight Distribution and Flywheel Effect. While the high recoil of the elliptical shape and the wings may imply high Attack potential, the Takara Tomy release of Rising Ragnaruk features weak teeth that are unable to withstand the aforementioned recoil, meaning that this Layer is prone to losses by Burst.

Forge Disc - Gravity

Main article: Forge Disc - Gravity
Gravity has a thick, octagonal shape and bears designs that resemble steel plates on each of its eight segments. As with all Forge Discs, it has two tabs that protrude from the top and fit in the slots in the Energy Layer. These tabs are marked with a stylized G to identify the Forge Disc.

Gravity was tied with Heavy for the heaviest Forge Disc in the game, making it a solid choice for adding weight to the Beyblade and increasing its KO Defense. Compared to the rather compact Heavy, Gravity has a larger diameter and more of its weight packed around its perimeter, giving it arguably what was the best Stamina in the game and increasing the mobility of more aggressive combos with the Flywheel Effect. However, it has been outclassed by 7 for Stamina. The high spin momentum provided by Gravity's Outward Weight Distribution means that the overall Beyblade will not lose much spin upon collision with an opponent, however that means that the force of the impact will instead be absorbed by the Energy Layer, causing it to skip teeth to cope with the shock.

Performance Tip - Revolve

Main article: Performance Tip - Revolve
Revolve features a sharp tip of a small diameter surrounded by a free-spinning ring, akin to the Around Sharp Performance Tip from the Metal Fight Saga. The sharp tip of Revolve provides low friction with the stadium floor, resulting in high Stamina and Burst Defense properties. While the small diameter of the sharp tip may imply easy Destabilization, the wide diameter of the free-spinning ring helps maintain stability. The wide diameter of the ring also provides Revolve high procession time which is useful against Opposite-Spin and Mobile Stamina Combinations. Furthermore, when launched at an angle, the free-spinning ring of Revolve makes more contact with the stadium floor resulting in decent KO resistance, however said KO resistance still lags behind that of Orbit and Atomic due to the lower surface area and some Beyblades that are off center are easier to Burst.

In the current metagame, Revolve is best suited for Pure Stamina Combinations due to the release of Atomic. However, Revolve's spring lock is stronger than that of Atomic and Orbit's, allowing it to be a safer choice for Layers with weak teeth such as Deep Chaos.

Due to considerable manufacturing variations, Bladers must be careful when using this Tip. Some variations of Revolve do not spin freely as they should, and the disc becomes very stiff to tilt. Others have the disc pop out after significant usage. For competitive use, the most free-spinning one is ideal. The chances of obtaining one, however, are random.

Trivia

  • Roktavor's Japanese name, Rising Ragnaruk, is based on the words "Rising", a synonym of ascension, and Ragnarök, a series of future events in Norse mythology, including a great battle, foretold to ultimately result in the death of a number of major figures (including the gods Odin, Thor, Týr, Freyr, Heimdallr, and Loki), followed by various natural disasters occurring, and the subsequent submersion of the world in water. Afterward, the world will resurface anew and fertile, the surviving and returning gods will meet, and the world will be repopulated by two human survivors.
  • Roktavor's avatar is an armored, winged demon with attributes of a ram.
