Salamalyon is a Stamina-type Beyblade and is Johnny's Beyblade. It was often described as a "transforming" or "hidden spirit" Beyblade because it came with a dragon figure that could be attached to the blade.
Bit-Chip (BC): Salamalyon
The chip depicts Salamalyon.
Attack Ring (AR): Fire Cracker
A beyblade mainly for the looks with the included plastic figma. It is not very good at connecting with attacks. The attack ring has a superficial resemblance to that of Dranzer V2, but has a much higher amount of recoil.
Hasbro version has joints to the action figure on the top.
Weight Disk (WD): Eight Wide
- Weight: 13 Grams
Blade Base (BB): Salamalyon Base
The base is attached to the spin gear using a screw. The base is thin and flat.
Takara's base has two spikes at the side which allow it to be attached to the dragon figure as Johnny used the beyblade in the TV show. However the beyblade cannot be launched this way and therefore Hasbro redesigned it to have these dragon parts be attached to the top to prevent confusion among players. The pegs are fragile and may break in battle.
- Bakutenryu Donitrus - Blue variant released by Takara in 2004 with blue and white dragon figure.
- Coro Coro Comic Limited Edition Bakuten Henkei Gaia Dragoon - A purple Salamalyon with a revolver attacker weight disk instead of eight wide. Dragon figure is purple and yellow.
- Salamalyon 2 - Orange variant released by Hasbro, with purple instead of yellow for parts of the dragon figure.
