Salamalyon is a Beyblade owned by Johnny McGregor. It was often described as a "transforming" or "hidden spirit" beyblade because it came with a dragon figure that could be attached to the blade. In 2004 during the G-Revolution season, the beyblade released with different colours in Japan as Bakutenryu Donitrus and is blue instead of red. Hasbro also released "Salamalyon 2" which was an orange version of Salamalyon with purple instead of yellow for parts of the dragon figure.Template:Beyblade

The base is attached to the spin gear using a screw. The base is thin and flat.
Takara's base has two spikes at the side which allow it to be attached to the dragon figure as Johnny used the beyblade in the TV show. However the beyblade cannot be launched this way and therefore Hasbro redesigned it to have these dragon parts be attached to the top to prevent confusion among players. The pegs are fragile and may break in battle.
