Satomb S3 5 Guard, known as Kreis Satan 5 Guard (クライスサタン・ファイブ・ガード, Kuraisu Satan Faibu Gādo) in Japan, is a Defense Type Beyblade released as part of the Burst System as well as the God Layer System. It was released in Japan on December 28th, 2017 for 972円 as one of eight possible Beyblades in Random Booster Vol. 9 Beat Kukulcan.7U.Hn.

Energy Layer - Satomb S3

Main article: Energy Layer - Satomb S3
Satomb S3 is a round and thick Energy Layer designed for Defense. Off of the side of the God Chip is a face that is meant to depict this Layer's namesake, the Biblical fallen angel Satan. Consisting of a hexagonal inner layer made of clear plastic and three large wings molded to include three small blades made of colored plastic, the compact placement and direction of the blades creates a low recoil design. Gaps exist in between each wing so every other corner of the inner layer can house this Energy Layer's gimmick; three small rollers.

In theory, the rollers are meant to deflect the opponent's attacks by rolling with the opponent's Layer, but in practice the small size of the rollers makes them ineffective for such a purpose. Not only that but the gaps needed to house the gimmick create points of recoil and while at first glance the rollers appear to fill the gap to nullify recoil, on closer inspection the rollers create points of recoil due to sticking out from the perimeter.

The Takara Tomy release of Kreis Satan features four teeth, the first being medium in length and the next three being medium tall in length. These teeth, combined with the moderately low recoil design, give this Layer both high Burst and KO resistance. However, the bulky design cripples Stamina giving Satomb S3 Combinations a high risk of being Out Spun and the recoil inducing wheels make Satomb S3 lag behind Alter Chronos and Maximum Garuda.

Forge Disc - 5

Main article: Forge Disc - 5
5, like other odd numbered Core Discs, is asymmetrical and elliptical in shape in order to facilitate a Disc Frame. One side features two protrusions and the other features three, all molded in the shape of "5"s and the center features two small holes on either side. While the asymmetrical design may imply imbalance, the smaller size of two of the protrusions on the three lobed side ensures that the Disk is balanced. 5's overall shape resembles a reversed 4 and acts almost identically with the same high Stamina potential, KO resistance and Life After Death when paired with Disc Frames such as Glaive or Cross. While 7 has greater Stamina, 5 is still comparable.

Performance Tip - Guard

Main article: Performance Tip - Guard
Guard features a ball shaped tip surrounded by a downward facing dish that freely moves vertically, akin to Zero-G Beyblade's E230 Track. In theory the dish is meant to make contact with the stadium floor when the Beyblade is struck, forcing it back upright, acting as brakes to prevent a KO while the vertical movement of the dish is meant to prevent Stamina loss. In practice however, the vertical movement prevents the dish from stabilizing a Combination on the shallow curvature of the stadium and because the dish does not spin freely, it causes the Beyblade to accelerate instead of stopping which worsens Destabilization further.

Unlike other ball based Performance Tips, Guard's tip does not features any tabs as their purpose had been integrated into the dish. However, the relatively smooth rim of the dish and its vertical movement nullifies most of its KO resistance with greater Stamina loss and the small diameter of the tip does little to stop the Beyblade. While the smooth ball would imply greater Stamina than Defense, the aforementioned dish nullifies any Stamina benefit.
