Shelter Regulus 8'Bump Destroy' (シェルターレグルス・エイトダッシュバンプ・デストロイダッシュ, Sherutā Regurusu Eito Dasshu Banpu Desutoroi Dasshu) is an Attack Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the God Layer System. It was released in Japan on October 20th, 2018 for 993円 as one of eight possible Beyblades in Random Booster Vol. 12 Dead Hades.11T.Z'.
Energy Layer - Shelter Regulus[]
- Main article: Energy Layer - Shelter Regulus
Takara Tomy's Shelter Regulus is a Balance Type Energy Layer that features two lion heads and two lion claws on each side meant to represent this Layer’s namesake, the brightest star in the Leo Constellation, Regulus. As part of the God Layer System, Shelter Regulus features a gimmick; the lion heads and claws can extend and retract in battle to create an Attack Mode and Defense Mode, akin to the Variares Metal Wheel from Metal Fight Beyblade.
Due to centrifugal force, the lion heads and claws will extend outward to increase the gaps in the Layer and when spin speed drops later in battle, the heads and claws will retract. In theory this is meant to increase Burst Attack potential early in battle and reduce Stamina draining recoil to win by Out-Spin if a Burst is not achieved. However in practice, the change in recoil is minuscule at best with no observable change in performance, furthermore, Shelter Regulus' perimeter is square, even in "Defense Mode" which creates the recoil the gimmick was trying to avoid. Shelter Regulus' performance is further hampered by its weak teeth which, when combined with the recoil inducing square shape, cause Shelter Regulus Combinations to Burst easily.
Forge Disc - 8'[]
- Main article: Forge Disc - 8'
8', like other even numbered Core Discs, is symmetrical and elliptical in shape in order to facilitate a Disc Frame. 8' is essentially a wider and lighter version of 8, with higher Outward Weight Distribution (OWD) due to its wider shape. As a result, 8' has higher Stamina Potential than its predecessor. Like 8, 8' features four protrusions on each side. Each of the protrusions features gaps, akin to Knuckle, which takes weight away from the center and creates high Outward Weight Distribution. However, like other heavy Forge Discs with high Outward Weight Distribution, the use of 8' decreases Burst Resistance as a trade off.
Disc Frame - Bump[]
- Main article: Disc Frame - Bump
Bump is a round Disc Frame with numerous protrusions to give it a rough perimeter. While too small to come into contact with the opponent's Layer, Bump is one of the thickest and thus heaviest Frames in the game, heavier than Meteor, which grants high Attack potential when paired with Core Discs such as 7. While the round shape may imply high Life-After-Death, the rough perimeter makes it outclassed for Defense and Stamina by Glaive and Cross.
Performance Tip - Destroy'[]
- Main article: Performance Tip - Destroy'
Destroy' features an eight-pointed star tip, akin to Jaggy, under a free-spinning plate that sits at a standard height.
Due to the tip's shape and diameter, Destroy' will create an aggressive movement pattern equivalent to Jaggy with the same moderately controllable movement pattern and speed.
What sets Destroy' apart from Jaggy is the free-spinning plate that is meant to stabilize a Beyblade if it is knocked off balance by creating a second point of contact with only minimal Stamina loss due to its free-spinning nature. Unlike other Tips with similar gimmicks such as Cycle and Guard, the low placement of Destroy''s plate ensures that lock up does not occur, meaning that Destroy''s gimmick works as intended.
While Destroy' has poor Stamina from the star shaped tip, the smooth perimeter and free-spinning nature of the plate also grants Destroy' high Life-After-Death which can allow Combinations to potentially Out-Spin their opponent if a Burst or Knock-Out has not been achieved.
Like other Dash Performance Tips, Destroy' features a stronger spring lock, increasing the Performance Tip's Burst Resistance.
There is a mold variation of Destroy': the mold released by Hasbro in the Elite Champions Pro Set has a regular spring, which means it is in fact a normal Destroy, rather than the Dash Driver version.
