Super Hyperion MR Tapered Xplosion-2 ((スーパー)ハイペリオンMR・テーパード・エクスプロージョン-2, Sūpā Haiperion MR Tēpādo Ekusupurōjon-2) is an Attack Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System and the Burst Ultimate Layer Series. It was released in Japan on October 8th, 2022 for 7250円 as apart of the Ultimate Fusion DX Set.

In the toyline, it is the successor to Hyperion Burn Cho Xceed'+X.

DB Core - Hyperion

Main article: DB Core - Hyperion

Takara Tomy's Hyperion is a right-spin DB Core that features a side profile of the DB Core's namesake, Hyperion, an epithet used by Helios, the god of the sun in Greek mythology. The design is reminiscent of its predecessors in the Hyperion line. Hyperion features average Burst Resistance, with the same Locks as the Belial 1 DB Core, but also top-tier Stamina performance.

Hyperion is compatible with the "BU Lock" gimmick. When paired with the two BU Lock compatible DB Discs, Xanthus and Moon, raised protrusions on the Disc tabs lock into two grooves on Hyperion. This results in increased Burst Resistance and a sturdy combination, preventing the Disc from shaking during battle.

Armor - 2

Main article: Armor - 2

Takara Tomy's 2 is an Armor with two pointed ends opposite to each other. The two-sided shape has an even weight distribution at two opposite points to increase Attack.

Forge Disc - Tapered

Main article: Forge Disc - Tapered

Tapered is a round DB Disc with an ideal weight distribution for all combinations. Its round design increases Outward Weight Distribution (OWD) and creates high Stamina potential. Its heavy weight also grants it high Attack and Defense potential. Its general shape and performance is similar to Over, with the most notable difference between the two Discs being that Tapered has a downward sloping cone shape rather than the cylindrical shape of Over.

Performance Tip - Xplosion

Main article: Performance Tip - Xplosion

Xplosion is an Attack Type Performance Tip that features a rubber six-pointed star tip, akin to Jolt, under a free-spinning plate that sits at a standard height, akin to Destroy. It is essentially a combination of the two aforementioned Performance Tips, although the six spikes protrude towards the left rather than the right. The direction of Xplosion's six spikes are meant to, in theory, create greater speeds in right-spin Combinations. In practice however, there is little discernible difference in movement speed between left-spin and right-spin.

Due to the surface area to friction ratio, Xplosion will create aggressive, and if launched with a Banking Shoot, controllable movement patterns. Its aggressive and high speed allows for strong attacks and its high friction decreases the likelihood of losing a Banking Pattern during battle.

Like Destroy, Xplosion has a free-spinning plate that is meant to stabilize a Xplosion Combination if it is knocked off balance. The free-spinning plate accomplishes this by creating a second point of contact with minimal Stamina loss due to its free-spinning nature. Unlike other Performance Tips with similar gimmicks such as Guard, the low placement of the free-spinning plate ensures that the gimmick works as intended.

While Xplosion has poor Stamina from the rubber tip, the free-spinning nature of the plate grants Xplosion high Life-After-Death (LAD) which can allow Combinations to potentially Out-Spin their opponent.
