Fafnir (ファブニル, Fabunīru) is a Superking Chip released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Superking Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-167 Booster, Mirage Fafnir Nothing 2S, on May 30th, 2020. It later debuted in western countries with the release of Hasbro's Pro Series Starter Pack, Mirage Fafnir Nothing 2S.

Description

The motif is of the golden dragon, Fafnir. A left-spin Superking Chip that locks the whole Beyblade.
— Official Description

Fafnir is a left-spin Superking Chip that features a dragon and claws grasping the center Chip Core, akin to its predecessors. The design represents the Superking Chip's namesake: Fafnir, a dwarf turned into a dragon in Norse and Germanic mythology. Fafnir has an average weight for Superking Chips, and is thus outclassed by the heavier Helios 2, which has metal, and Spriggan, which has the versatility of dual-spin capabilities. Since the differences between most Superking Chips is only cosmetic, it is recommended to use the aforementioned Helios 2 and Spriggan over Superking Chips like Fafnir, as they offer additional advantages.

Overall

While Superking Layers can still find some use in this format, other Superking Chips are preferable over Fafnir, as they offer additional advantages.

As such, Fafnir is not recommended for the Burst Format.

Fafnir is not legal in the Burst GT Format.

Fafnir is not legal in the Burst Limited Format.

Fafnir is not legal in the Burst Classic Format.
