Trident Heavy Claw (トライデント・ヘビー・クロー, Toraidento Hebī Kurō) is a Stamina Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System. It was released in Japan on September 19th, 2015 for 864円 as the prize Beyblade in Random Booster Vol. 1 Trident Heavy Claw.

Energy Layer - Trident

The motif is of the three-pronged spear, Trident. A large right-spin Stamina Type Layer with three large blades that can create a centrifugal force.
— Official Description

As the name implies, Takara Tomy's Trident is based on the iconic three-pronged spear belonging to the Roman god Neptune. Trident is an Energy Layer that overall has a triangular shape, with a trident-shaped protrusion transcending two of these sides. At the corners of this triangle, there are two arrow heads pointing toward each other.

As Trident is a wide Layer, its weight is spread too far out, which causes imbalance and quickly deteriorates Stamina in battle. Furthermore, due to the placement and flat design of the protrusions, Trident lacks both the power to Destabilize the opponent and the design to defend itself, limiting its competitive use.

Trident also has small, shallow teeth, similar to Ragnaruk's, which makes this Layer susceptible to Bursting.

Forge Disc - Heavy

Main article: Forge Disc - Heavy

Heavy is a primarily circular Forge Disc, sporting a ring-like shape with numerous ridges on its interior that is interrupted by four rectangular protrusions designed to look like armored plates. As its name suggests, Heavy was the heaviest Forge Disc in the Burst System for a considerable period of time, until Gravity, which also weighs 21.6 grams, and Quarter, which weighs 21.8 grams were released. Despite this, Heavy is still one of the heaviest Forge Discs in the game, making it a popular choice for many Bladers. As its weight is a welcome asset to nearly any Beyblade, it enjoys a wide variety of uses on Combinations of all types. Heavy's high weight and compact shape gives it a Centralized Weight Distribution (CWD), making it particularly useful for Burst Attack as it will maximize the RPM of the Beyblade. This same weight distribution also makes it considerably more difficult to Burst than Gravity, the other disc in its weight class, at the cost of a significant amount of Stamina. Because of this, it is a better option for a Knock-Out Defense Combination than Gravity as Knock-Out Defense Combinations rely on high friction and weight to remain in the stadium, at the same time increasing their vulnerability to Bursting. However, due to its weight, Heavy is still more prone to Bursting than most lighter competitive Forge Discs such as Spread, Knuckle, and Armed.

Performance Tip - Claw

Main article: Performance Tip - Claw

Claw features a low angled cone tip akin to Survive, albeit with a smaller diameter, with four free-moving "claws" along the sides of the Tip, akin to Metal Fight Beyblade's C145 Track. When spinning, the centrifugal force will force the claws up and outwards to in theory increase Outward Weight Distribution (OWD) and in turn increase Stamina. In practice however, such an effect is negligible and does little to increase Stamina potential. Furthermore, when spin speed drops and the claws fall back down they scrape against the stadium floor and reduce Precession time, making Claw outclassed by Survive for Stamina. However, the claws grant Claw decent Knock-Out Resistance as they will scrape against the stadium floor if a Claw Combination is struck and resist Knock-Outs at the cost of Stamina, akin to the tabs of Defense. Furthermore, the small point of contact creates low friction with the stadium floor and increases Burst Resistance.
