This bey is known for its ability to fly so here's a tutorial to show you how. You will need: the Flying Defense (the Takara Tomy version is the only one that can fly) attack ring, a Right SG (Jumping version), and the casings of a left SG, along with a left launcher.

A weight disk or blade base will put too much weight on the bey. This is for leisure only.

Unless you are a collector there is virtually no reason to buy this Beyblade, other than perhaps the gimmick of the Takara version. It cannot be used in any competitive situation.

Typio is a Defense-type Beyblade and is Eddy's Beyblade.

Bit Chip (BC): Trypio

The chip depicts Trypio.

Attack Ring (AR): Flying Defense

Main article: Attack Ring - Flying Defense
  • Weight: 7 Grams

As the name suggests, the Takara version of Flying Defense is able to fly. Hasbro removed this ability and made some other changes. (For more information see Mold Variations below) The width of Flying Defense is 8.84 cm wide (3.50”) and is too large to be thrown out of stadiums such as the Tornado Balance Type S and many others. For this reason, it may be useful to use the Hasbro version with a low base, such as Dragoon S's Storm Grip Base, so it cannot be knocked off balance by an Upper Attacker easily. If this AR is on a tall base, it can get knocked off balance causing it to scrape across the stadium floor and stop spinning. Flying Defense is quite breakable which is another reason not to use it competitively.

Mold Variations

Hasbro removed the ability to fly as well as the three attacking points leaving a totally circular AR. This does not provide any more use than the Takara version as while it suffers less Recoil, it still suffers badly from its incredibly poor stability.

Use in Hasbro Stadium Attack Customization

Because of Trypio's wide attack range, it can be used effectively to some extent with an attack based BB in a Hasbro stadium.

This custom was primarily used to defeat Survival type combos in Hasbro stadiums. With a high movement BB, like SG Metal Flat 2, this combo will bounce off walls and push the opposing Beyblade into the pockets. Because of the size of the AR, it will not be able to KO itself. Obviously, this would not be effective against Defense-type combinations since they will be able to endure the hits. Attack-types are not this Beyblade's concern, and besides, experienced Bladers will usually not use Attack types in Hasbro stadiums.

Weight Disk (WD): Eight Balance

Main article: Weight Disk - Eight Balance
Weight
Attack
Defense
Stamina
14 grams

The Balance WD has a weight which is between that of Wide Weight Disks and Heavy Weight Disks. Its mass is distributed well, and in theory would be used for both Defense and Stamina purposes. That being said, there are numerous other options which are better for those types, and even Balance types, which also in theory would benefit from this type of WD, have much better choices (such as Ten Heavy). Ten Balance is the heaviest out of all of the Balance weight disks, and generally speaking, is chosen over Six and Eight Balance when customizing.

Spin Gear (SG): Right SG

Main article: Spin Gear - Right SG

Right Spin Gears allow for right spin when used in tandem with Right-Spin Shooters. In a Right-Spin Spin Gear, two tabs (situated close to the right sides of the Spin Gear) would attach to the Right-Spin Shooter, allowing a Beyblade to be spun clockwise.

They have plastic casing surrounding a metal ring and gear which is placed into the Blade Base and held in place by base clips. The core (centre pieces) is not interchangeable in Standard Spin Gears. Different variations have now been released that feature weights, bearings and even an engine inside the Spin Gear.

Blade Base (BB): SG Sharp Base

Main article: Blade Base - SG Sharp
Weight
Attack
Defense
Stamina
7 grams

This is often considered the successor of the Sharp Blade Base. The pointed tip allows for very little friction between the Beyblade and the Stadium surface which helps maintain high spin velocity. This offers very little movement and as such offers no Attack potential. This part is also often thrown off balance and can be easily toppled over. This in turn sacrifices all Defense ability. While this can be used as an advantage in some situations, there are far better choices than this part for Stamina types. This SG Sharp is different than other SG Sharp models. It has clips that extend far enough to make the outside of the SG Sharp base a perfect circle.
