He is a fair fighting, calm headed Beyblader who wishes to soar like his Earth Eagle 145WD.

Personality

Tsubasa is a strong Blader who is generally composed, kind, intelligent, nomadic, and honest. He is a skilled tactician, shown to be adaptable during tough points in a battle and utilizes all his senses during battles making him gain wins easily. Later, he is plagued by a dark side that undermines his strengths and self-confidence in his battling style; which he overcomes after Ryuga advises him not to resist the dark power but to become one with it.

When he first appeared, he is very adaptable character and seems like a nomad willing to help anyone. However, that perception changes when he joins the Dark Nebula seemingly to offer his services for money and power. It is later revealed that he is actually a WBBA special investigator who went undercover to infiltrate Dark Nebula to find out what they were really up to.

Tsubasa then joins Gingka and his friends along in their journey and help them always whenever needed. He usually tag battles with his partner and good friend, Yu Tendo, on the same team. In Metal Fury he was shown to harbor disappointment over the fact he was not one of the Legendary Bladers, but aided them to his maximum capacity in their final fight against Nemesis.

Biography

Beyblade: Metal Fusion

Tsubasa first appears when Gingka Hagane is attacked by a group of thugs wanting his bey points and is about to finish him off. Out of nowhere, Tsubasa leaps and launches his Bey Earth Eagle 145WD defeating all of them in one shot. Gingka is impressed and starts asking Tsubasa questions about who he is and why he may be there. The two of them spend the rest of their day together, and Tsubasa teaches Gingka that it doesn't only take sight to win in a Bey battle but also to use your other senses. He then competes in a tournament when they reach the nearest town, and he gives Gingka advice before purposefully loses to him in the final battle. Gingka then asks why he lost and who he even was. Tsubasa told Gingka he is a blader like him and that he hopes they will cross paths again at a later Tournament.

He later appears in a tournament in which Kumasuke Kumade, a Blader from the Dark Nebula appears to be winning. He shockingly wins against him, and that night sneaks into the Dark Nebula where he meets Doji and asks him if he can join. Doji tells Tsubasa they are not hiring at the moment and Tsubasa says he wants to look for power and is intrested in Ryuga and Lightning L-Drago 100HF. After meeting the Kumade bros he challenges them to a battle, easily plays with their weakness thus beating them and proves to be a Blader equally as powerful as Yu Tendo after drawing with him in battle which annoys the other Blader. Doji then concludes that he can join but they will be keeping an eye on Tsubasa. Tsubasa told Yu had this battle been real he would have won mocking Yu by calling him "little boy". The next day Doji asked Tsubasa about cacti and then told him and Yu to track the progress of Gingka's gang.

Next, he intervenes a tournament for the Dark Nebula alongside Yu and beats Kenta Yumiya, giving him useful advice in the process while Yu beat Hyoma. Doji congratulated the two on beating Kenta and Hyoma. Yu asked Tsubasa if they could battle with the later telling him he "does not play with kids". Later Doji orders him and Yu to go to a tournament to find strong bladers for the Dark Neubla saying if they find weak bladers then beat them up. Yu and Tsubassa walk in while Dan Sodo and Reiki Sodo follow them. During the first round he and Yu watch Gingka battle Ryutaro Fukami and note how unique of a bladder he is by using whichcraft. When Thermal Pisces T125ES starts to give Gingka a headache, Yu notes that Gingka might just lose in the first round. Tsubassa then notes that Gingka wont be a threat to the Dark Nebula then. After Gingka wins by a new special move called Storm Bringer Tsubasa gets impressed. He and Yu later run into Gingka Hagane Kenta Yumiya, Madoka Amano and Benkei Hanawa after Benkei knowcks down Yu by mistake. When Gingka asks why Tsubassa is with Yu, the kid tells the group that Tsubassa is part of the Dark nebula causing Tsubasas to conform Yu's statement. Knowing this organization's dark schemes, Gingka obviously wonders why his recent friend would join his enemies. Tsubasa's response is to turn his back to him and walk away, dryly telling Yu to follow him already. Gingka then wonders if Tsubassa let him win on purpose just so the Dark nebula could learn more about him. Later on in the first round of the tornament, he battles Benkei Hanawa while Yu faces an unknown blader, kenta faces Dan and Reiki and Kyoya Tategami faces Hikaru Hasama. Benkei vows to crush any dark Nebula blader he battles only for Tsubasa to mock his judgement. Tsubassa has Eagle run away from Dark Bull H145SD much to Benkei's frustration. Benkei starts to get distracted with Kenta's battle against Dan and Reikei causing Tsubassa to remind him to keep his eyes on the staduim causing Benkei to use Bull Uppercut. Tsubassa blocks the attack with Metal wing Smash causing Bull to fall down and earn Eagle the win. Tsubassa reminds Benkei that as a blader he must keep his eyes on the staduim at all times and walks away. After Kenta beats Dan and Reiki's new bey Evil Gemios DF145FS Tsubassa watches with a smile.

Gingka, Hyoma, Kyoya, Kenta, Yu and Tsubasa are the final six Bladers who have survived the tournament. Blader DJ announces that their battle will be a 6 Man Battle Royal, he states that each one of them have an opportunity to win.

Kenta is worried that all his opponents are strong but is surprised at himself about how far he has made it and has the opportunity to battle all these strong opponents.

The battle begins as all six Bladers launch fiercely into the arena. quickly the target becomes Gingka being attacked by Tsubasa and his Earth Eagle. Yu then reminds Tsubasa about their plan, but he disregards it and keeps focusing on defeating Gingka. Kyoya tries to end it fast as he uses his special move King Lion Tearing Blast. Tsubasa's bey then gets caught by the wind and shows his carelessness; while Kyoya reminds them that Gingka isn't there only opponent.

Gingka then uses the help from Kyoya to repel Eagle while Hyoma and Kenta make their pretense known as they attack Yu's Libra with their combined strength, they repel Libra but that leads Tsubasa and Yu to devise a plan to take out all beys not Pegasus quickly. Yu then starts to attack Kenta and decides to cut their battle short as he activates one of his special moves, but Kyoya's Leone repels Libra in order to save Kenta while Tsubasa targets Hyoma's Aries.

Tsubasa attacks fiercely until Hyoma counters with a special move Wind Storm Assault to cancel out his attack. Tsubasa then figures out that his attack cannot be cancelled out from above so he uses his special move Metal Wing Smash to eliminate Hyoma from the battle.

Kyoya and Kenta work together to try to eliminate Yu by using there special moves together, Kenta's special move knocks Libra into the arena but still spinning barely, but is grinding against the arena but they spoke to soon as Libra's Eternal Sharp performance tip to regain balance and speed. Yu tries to go battle Pegasus with Tsubasa but Kyoya attempts to stop him but is stopped by Libra's special move Sonic Wave trapping Leone and Saggitario in sand.

Libra then tries to eliminate everybody by using his special move Inferno Blast, but Tsubasa counters with a special move Counter Stance to stop Libra's shockwave production but Kyoya activates his special move Lion Gale Force Wall. Gingka commands Pegasus to try to create a vacuum to cancel out all the special moves in the arena and succeeds but collides with eagle and Libra causing an explosion that eliminates all 3 of them leaving Kyoya and Kenta left. Kyoya works fast and creates a tornado and eliminates Kenta winning him the battle royal and the tournament. Tsubassa Yu and Gingka win third place and get 1000 bey points. Yu later tells Tsubasa if he had not gotten in his way, he would have won with Tsubasa telling him winning is not all important.

Later he is seen observing Ryuga's battles alongside Yu watching Ryuga battle many opponents such as Tobio Oike and Ryutaro and notes how different L-Drago is to other beys. In the evening he is seen senaking past Merci's cameras and looking though data of L-Drago including the time Ryuga beat Gingka in their first battle and is about to leave before Doji and Yu stop him revaling that they know he was looking at L-Drago's data and gets ambused by Dark Nebula Bladers. He defeats all of the Dark Nebula's lower class bladers including the Kumade Bros Dan Sodo Reiki Sodo and Tetsuya Watarigani. but Ryuga shows up just in time to battle him. During the fight he uses his Special move but ends up having his power absorbed. Ryuga taunts Tsubasa about not having enough power to beat him. Just when Ryuga performs him final spin move Dragon Emperor Soaring Bite Strike, the mysterious Phoenix saves him and escapes. In the woods Tsubasa tells Phoenix his mission from the WBBA, and Phoneix tells him to get to know Gingka's gang. He later ambushes Gingka before his final challenge match starts. His friends assume he is doing this on Dark Nebula orders, he tells them he quit the orginazation. Ginga's friends challenge him to battle which Tsubasa excepts believing he will understand them better. After beating Kenta, Benkei, Hyoma, and Hikaru Hasama and losing to Phoenix (after which Gingka beat Phoenix to get his points back), he tells them the truth, that he works for the WBBA and was investigating on their behalf. Tsubasa then joins Gingka's friends to battle in Battle bladers.

He then fights alongside them at Battle Bladers where they find out they will fight Dark Nebula bladers in the first round. During the first round he beats Reki very easily and notes that Reiji Mizuchi is a unique Dark Nebula blader due to the fact that he never saw any info on him in the Dark Nebula database. He then knows that because Hyoma is strong Reiji will continue to torment him. When Yu needs Gingka’s help against Reiji Tsubasa notes he never thought of Yu as evil. In the second round he faces Ryuga in a rematch whom he puts up a good fight and though Tsubasa gives Ryuga a hard time even beating his Dark move, he is unable to last and is crushed, becoming injured, cursing him with the Dark Power (though this would not be known until Metal Masters) and needing to go to the hospital. Gingka then swears to avenge Tsubasa by beating Ryuga for good. In Gingka's final battle against Ryuga, Tsubasa, along with Hikaru Hasama and Kyoya Tategami, shield him from any physical damage and they are all revived from their comas from their battles against the Dragon Emperor. Gingka even defeats Ryuga, but at the cost of losing Pegasus. But in the celebration, everyone looks to a brighter future for Beybladers everywhere. He is then seen celebrating Gingka's victory in the final episode.

Beyblade: Metal Masters

As the WBBA opens up after the Dark Nebula incident, Tsubasa takes part in the reopening tournament for the WBBA, he makes it to the semi-finals to face Benkei Hanawa and easily defeats him. Tsubasa faces Yu in the finals and starts by telling him that he's been waiting for their rematch. Tsubasa and Yu battle until they are interrupted by a mysterious challenger (Masamune Kadoya). He challenges both Tsubasa and Yu but Tsubasa leaves the battle after he proclaims that he doesn't battle people with no manners while Masamune battles Yu.

Tsubasa and Yu

Tsubasa battles Yu for the Third Spot on GanGan Galaxy

Tsubasa would now take part in the Japanese Team Selection matches. In the first round Tsubasa scores 370 points moving him in the next round to face Kyoya Tategami for the second spot on the team, after the no mannered challenger from before: Masamune Kadoya. Kyoya feels comfortable as he knows Tsubasa's style, but Tsubasa knows Kyoya's moves as well, which leads to Tsubasa taking the match. Even though things seem bleak for Kyoya, he is not distraught; rather, he is excited by Tsubasa's strength and prepares to take the match for himself.

Tsubasa continues the battle and fights hard until Kyoya begins to permanently take the upper hand; this is where Tsubasa gets his first glimpse of the dark power that dwells within him. Because of which, Tsubasa tried to go toe to toe with Kyoya's power and lost the match much to his shock. He wondered what could have happned.

After Kyoya refused to join the team, Tsubasa and Yu would have to battle to decide who would be the third member and who would be the sub member. Tsubasa and Yu battle for their last time, The two launch with equal speed as Eagle goes straight to the offense and attacks Libra. Libra begins a counterattack as Yu uses his special move, Sonic Wave to push Eagle back. Yu tells Tsubasa he can't run and decides to use his special move, Sonic Buster to trap Eagle. Eagle evades by flying above the sand and out of the stadium into the sky, this avoids the ground trap and attacks Libra from above. Libra uses Sonic Shield to repel Eagle Libra escapes Eagle's oncoming attacks and try's to lead Eagle into the sand trap to no avail, it is revealed by Gingka that Tsubasa is trying to use close up attacks to keep Yu from charging his Libra's special move, Inferno Blast. Eagle goes for yet another attack but Yu blocks with his special move, Sonic Shield which repels Eagle. Yu uses the opportunity to charge his Libra's Inferno Blast. Yu releases his special move and quickly sucks Eagle in, as Yu boasts his victory. Tsubasa is then able to figure out how to let his Eagle soar alone to victory. Tsubasa defeats Yu without losing control, giving him hope that the Dark Power won't return.

After traveling to the Beylin Temple in China, Tsubasa decides to hang out with Yu and standby while Gingka and Masamune nonstop train and battle. During Masamune's match with Chao Xin on the Great Wall of China, Tsubasa had several inputs about Chao Xin's interesting blading style and used this to prepare for anyone he might battle in the future.

Tsubasa infected by Dark Power

Tsubasa is taken control of by The Dark Power

During the First Round of Big Bang Bladers after Masamune defeated Chao Xin, Tsubasa was up next to face Chiyun Li. During preparation, Tsubasa figured he needed to battle calmly and focus on Chi-yun's martial arts based Beyblading. Once the match begun Tsubasa was in good standards but was constantly taunted about his loss to Kyoya and how he battles too stiffly.

Tsubasa with the dark power

Tsubasa begins to lose control of the battle as he is unable to break through Chi-yun's defense. Once Chi-yun takes the offensive, he keeps on pushing Tsubasa to show him the power he showed in the battle with Kyoya. Tsubasa loses control and begins to be influenced by the dark power. Tsubasa loses full control and goes far beyond his battle with Kyoya and attacks recklessly slamming Chi-yun's Thermal Lacerta into a wall and eventually self-destructs his own Eagle costing him the match, and he passes out. After defeating Team Wang Hu Zhong, Team GanGan Galaxy travels to the Middle East. They meet Team Desert Blaze and hope to face them as soon as possible. During Team Desert Blaze's match with Team Excalibur's Julian Konzern, Tsubasa along with the others are shocked by Julian's dual rotation. After Julian defeats their Middle Eastern friends they move along and travel to Russia for their next match up.

While on a train in Russia heading to where the match will be held and the team having a battle royal, the team is challenged by mysterious strangers. Tsubasa decides not to battle saying it was because the battles would have been uneven. During their match with Team Lovushka who were actually the strangers Tsubasa doesn't get a chance to battle because Team GanGan Galaxy won after two matches.

After their win the Team heads to Greece to join the Festival of Warriors. During their time there Gingka, Masamune and Yu are defeated by Team Excalibur's Julian, Sophie, and Wales. Afterwards they decide to go for some team training. Tsubasa and his friends mates decide to begin team building exercises to heighten their skills as a team. They draw straws to decide who will be on who's team and it is decided to be Gingka & Yu vs. Tsubasa & Masamune. The battle starts off with Gingka's Starbooster Attack which backfired due to Gingka and Yu attacking Tsubasa at the same time. Gingka and Yu begin to argue over who's fault it was as Masamune comes from behind Pegasus and uses his Lightning Sword Flash. Yu's Libra moves to intercept and while the three are in a group, Tsubasa uses his Metal Wing Smash which misses sparking an argument between he and Masamune.

Yu claims that he can't take it anymore and activates his Libra's Inferno Blast not caring if Gingka's Pegasus is sucked in. Pegasus slams into Striker which slams into Eagle dragging them all closer to the attack and sparking several arguments, Masamune states that it is now a four-way battle rather than a Tag Team. All of them begin to yell at each other until Madoka steps in and reminds them that they need to stop fighting and this is about teamwork which ultimately ends the battle. When it seems that any hope of working together is lost, they are met by their old friends from Wang Hu Zhong. While with GanGan Galaxy, Chao Xin helps Madoka re-accept the team while Dashan Wang trains the team in working together. Tsubasa teams up with Yu to face Chi-yun and Mei Mei while Gingka & Masamune face Dashan & Chao Xin. The battle begins with Eagle challenging Lacerta with several direct hits but is interrupted by Libra's Sonic Wave which nearly hits Eagle but misses all of its targets. While Tsubasai and Yu argue, Chi-Yun and Mei-Mei use the chance by activating their "Great Mountain Formation" where Aquario slams into Libra who easily defends until Lacerta comes in and slams the distracted Libra. They capitalize with a "Heaven and Earth" formation where Aquario is pushed by Lacerta into slamming Eagle, sending it flying. Madoka then stresses that their attitudes towards team work haven't changed since the beginning and Wang Hu Zhong begins to taunt which finally knocks a sense of urgency into Team GanGan Galaxy.

Gingka and the others then think back on their loss against Excalibur and reminds his teammates they have to be number one and stand on top of the world! Even so Chi-Yun and Mei-Mei reuse their Heaven and Earth formation which fails due to Eagle's intervention, Libra then seizes the moment and seperates Lacerta from Aquario, showing Tsubasa and Yu have finally learned teamwork. Inspired by their team work, Wang Hu Zhong including Chi-Yun and Mei-Mei decide that it's time to finish the battle. All of them activate their special moves, Tempestous Whirlwind Sword, Soaring Fire Bird, Diving Crush, Lightning Sword Flash, Starbooster Attack, Storm Surge and Inferno Blast respectively. The special moves clash and after the smoke settles it turns out that everyone was eliminated simultaniously, resulting in a draw.. Afterwards they say goodbye to their friends from Wang Hu Zhong.

Team GanGan Galaxy returns to Japan to face the African Team Representatives Team Wild Fang after they beat Team Chandora. Their matches begin almost immediately as Masamune is defeated by Nile. Next Gingka and Kyoya ignite their rivalry and battle to a draw. Tsubasa goes up next against Demure who changes it to a tag team including Benkei and Yu. Tsubasa and Yu have the simple advantage at first until Demure utilizes his smarts to counter Tsubasa's every move. After overreacting Tsubasa loses control of The Dark Power and his rage ends the battle defeating everyone but him including his teammate, Yu. Unconscious in the hospital for the rest of the match, Tsubasa was not present during Gingka & Masamune vs. Kyoya & Nile.

After their victory, Team GanGan Galaxy heads to Europe once more to face Team Excalibur after they beat Wang Hu Zhong which Tsubssa was in the hospital. During their stay Tsubasa sneaks out and finds Julian's mansion after being consumed by the dark power. He challenges Julian but calls it off telling him to use his left rotation. Before Julian can relaunch, Sophie and Wales protect and battle Tsubasa giving him some trouble. The battle is interrupted by a familiar face, Ryuga who returned with a new Bey Meteo L-Drago LW105LF. Ryuga tells Tsubasa that he has already overcome the Dark Power and found true strength. Ryuga causes everyone to flee due to his overwhelming strength. Ryuga later drags Tsubasa to his team and challenges Gingka to battle.

ComeToTheDarkSide

Tsubasa's final struggle with the Dark Power

The match begins between Team GanGan Galaxy & Team Excalibur. After Masamune is defeated by Klaus, Tsubasa recommends a Team Battle against Sophie & Wales. Tsubasa and Yu are overwhelmed by Sophie & Wales. Tsubasa loses control once more and goes berserk. Sophie & Wales easily see through his reckless attacks but within himself he was able to overcome the dark power as Ryuga said.

Tsubasa finally breaks through after remembering his past and his present along with his friends. Tsubasa then activates a new special move: Shining Tornado Buster and defeats Sophie & Wales single-handedly. Gingka beats Julian thus causing the team to move on.

Tsubasa is talking with his dark side

Team GanGan Galaxy head to Brazil for their next match. Yu is attacked by Team Garcias but it is too late to save him as his Libra is severely damaged. Once the matches begin, Team Garcia decides to make it an elimination match. Yu, Masamune and Gingka are all defeated along with most of the members on the opposing team. For the final match-up Tsubasa must face Argo Garcia to give his team the win. This puts a lot of pressure on Tsubasa but now that he's overcome the dark power he battles hard against Argo and uses his trust in his friends to defeat him badily but not after taking heavy damage.

Team GanGan Galaxy head to America for the Big Bang Bladers finals. Then Tsubasa and the others learn a lot about Masamune and his past including joining the Dungeon Gym and his friends Toby and Zeo Abyss. Later on, Tsubasa and Yu hang out and use a stadium as a test run before the match and are challenged by a mysterious stranger named Damian Hart who defeats them and puts them in the hospital causing both to miss the final match. Ironically Tsubasa is replaced by Ryuga in the finals, the one who led him in and out of the darkness.

Jack vs Tsubasa

Tsubasa faces Jack for Yu's freedom

During the launch of Hades City, Tsubasa and Yu return and easily defeat Argo who was pursuing Gingka Hagane. Tsubasa jumps on the bandwagon and heads into HD Academy alongside Kyoya, Dashan, Sophie wales Masamune and Gingka. During their search for the spiral core, they are stopped by Jack of Team Starbreaker.

Tsubasa decides to stay back and hold him while the rest of the team moves on. Jack is a fierce opponent as his power dramatically increases during the battle but Tsubasa fights hard and defeats him after the encouragement from Yu and Madoka. He and the others than confronts Dr. Ziggurat as he tries to escape. and later ends up getting out safeily.

Tsubasa is seen in the final scene of Metal Masters as the spiral core is destroyed and everyone celebrates with him and his team. He then tells Yu they should go on a training journey which the later excepts.

Beyblade: Metal Fury

Ryo, Tsubasa and Hikaru

Tsubasa, Ryo Hagane and Hikaru

In Beyblade: Metal Fury, Madoka explains that they hadn't seen Tsubasa or Yu since the World Championships, and were presumed to have left on a training journey. However, it is later revealed that Ryo Hagane had assigned Tsubasa to help in the search for the Legendary Bladers seprate from Ginga's friends and Tsubasa accepts hoping to become a Legendary blader himself.

Soon enough, Tsubasa enters the Babylonian tournament in Showdown! The Tower of Babel. Tsubasa enters the tournament after hearing a rumor that a legendary Bey is held at the top of The Tower of Babel but also as part of an investigation from the WBBA to get information on the Legendary Bladers. During the tournament Tsubasa beats many bladers and encounters Kenta and battles him. He wins, but near the end of the tournament, Ryuga is waiting for him.

Tsubasa1

Tsubasa and Kenta begin a fierce battle.

Ryuga states that he will not hand over the star fragment to anyone, but Tsubasa tries to take it by force. Tsubasa becomes easily overpowered and asks why L-Drago is suddenly so strong, Ryuga explains to him that he has a new power, and his Bey is now L-Drago Destructor F:S. Tsubasa then asks why Ryuga wants more power, but Ryuga defeats Tsubasa before fully answering the question. Tsubasa's investigation comes to an end as he finds out that the Bey at the end of The Tower of Babel was not special at all. Before Kenta follows Ryuga, Tsubasa asks Kenta to stay away from Ryuga, but Kenta follows Ryuga before answering.

Tsubasa later appears in America to take part in the Destroyer Dome battle as part of a WBBA mission to find the Legendary Bladers where he runs into the Dungeon Gym where he reunited with Masamune, Zeo, and Toby. After they reveal their new Beyblades, Spiral Lyre ED145MF (Toby's) and Spiral Fox TR145W2D (Zeo's), they challenge him to a battle, Tsubasa accepts thinking that if he tries his hardest against them his own Eagle might transform. Tsubasa uses this battle as a chance to learn how Spiral Lyre and Spiral Fox battle, he finds out that they both have a similar style and are stronger when combined. Towards the end of the battle, all three of them were about to finish off with their special moves (Shining Tornado Buster, Buster Tail, and Crash String) when Coach Steel's yelling interrupted them due to Masamune's cheering, thus ending the battle with no winner at all.

Tsubasa2

Tobio locks Tsubasa in battle.

He later enters the Destroyer Dome Tournament, along with Masamune, Toby, and Zeo Abyss where they find The Garcias having a fight. Later in the battle though, Zeo and Toby realizes that they were tricked by The Garcias and now the Garcias were surrounding Toby and Zeo. Tsubasa tries to help them, but Tobio stops Tsubasa and says he won't leave him alone until the fight is over. Finally defeating Tobio, Tsubasa tries to help Zeo and Toby although Argo and Ian corners Tsubasa. Zeo and Toby help Tsubasa defeat Ian and Argo, making it to the final round.

In the final round of the Destroyer Dome Tournament, Tsubasa, Zeo, Toby, Masamune, Jigsaw and King are left standing. The three Bladers left came down to Tsubasa, King and Masamune. Masamune and Tsubasa try their best to defeat King, but it's no use. They both find out that King is using reverse rotation and is a Legendary Blader. Tsubasa tries to end their struggle by using his Shining Tornado Buster but he is instantly countered and knocked out with King's special move. He finishes the tournament in 3rd place.

Later when Gingka is talking to Ryo he asks Tsubasa about Kenta. Remembering Kenta's promise, Tsubasa just says that he says hi and he misses Gingka.

After the Legendary Bladers are injured by Rago, Tsubasa rescues them and takes them back to the WBBA Headquarters. There, he joins them as they go to the final battle against Nemesis alongside Yu and Masamune. During the battle, the Legendary Bladers of the Four Seasons are trapped inside Nemesis' force field, and are unable to form Zeus' barrier. However, Tsubasa, Yu and Masamune combine their special moves to break through the field. Though their Beys stop, it allows the 4 Season Bladers to form Zeus' Barrier. However, Nemesis breaks free thanks to a piece of Firefuse Darkhelm 145DS. The true power of Nemesis was unleashed beating him and all the others. But Gingka managed to destroy Nemesis once and for all (with the help of the other legendary bladers star fragments and the power of every blader from around the world). He is later shown watching the final battle between Gingka and Kyoya telling Ryo that the circle of beyblade will continue forever.

Beyblade: Shogun Steel

Tsubasa has been revealed to be working with Madoka, who is the new owner of B-Pit. Tsubasa is also the new President of the WBBA, succeeding Ryo Hagane. He works to make beyblading more fun after the Nemesis Crisis. When Doji and Dark Nebula Again start invading he puts his faith in Zyro Kurogane and his friends to stop them which they do. He later appears to watch Zero's team battle the Bridge to the Future to see who will represent the WBBA.

Relationships

Yu Tendo

Yu and Tsubasa first met when Tsubasa came to the Dark Nebula headquarters to get "recruited". Yu initially finds him cool but Tsubasa continuosuly insults him, starting a rivalry between the two. They remain fairly distant while doing missions for the Dark Nebula, also bantering with each other. They are on the same team for the World Championships. After, they go on a training journey together before Tsubasa was called to action by the WBBA.

Gingka Hagane

Argo Garcia

Tsubasa and Argo have a long, hostile relationship.

Beyblades

Eagle
MFB Eagle

Earth Eagle 145WD: Tsubasa's primary Beyblade in Beyblade: Metal Fusion, Masters & Fury. It is a powerful Balance-Type Beyblade with incredible Speed, Power and Endurance. It stands up to powerful attacks using the sturdiness of it's WD performance tip and with it's wing like energy ring it rides on the wind and switches to attack mode, releasing a flurry of fast and powerful attacks.

Special Moves

  • Metal Wing Smash: Eagle glides on the wind which causes it to glow on a bright purple aura which represents the strength it gathers before it crashes into its target. Eagle's most powerful finishing move in Metal Fusion.
  • Stream Slash: Eagle glides on the wind, and entrusts its movement fully to it, allowing Eagle to bypass any resistance; including the vibrations of Libra's Inferno Blast releasing its own shock wave.
  • Counter Stance/Counter Smash: Eagle prepares itself by becoming one with the wind of it's movement and it is able to glide past enemy attacks as a counter and produces a shock wave. This can also be done by flying in the air and then counters the enemy by attacking their fusion wheel which makes them loose balance giving Eagle the advantage.
  • Diving Crush: Eagle glides on the wind and soars into the sky to gather all the air resistance and dive onto the opponent with increased power when aided by the wind energy which glows a bright purple.
  • Smashing Claw: Eagle glides on the wind and soars into the sky, only to dive onto the opponent and use the recoil to bounce back into the air and repeat the process in a circular motion repeatedly. This is Eagle's weakest special move.
  • Shining Tornado Buster: Tsubasa's most powerful special move; Eagle rides on the wind and soars into the sky then gathers an incredible amount of wind using it's wing like energy ring to immerse itself in a purple tornado that crashes upon the opponent, sharp enough to pierce nearly any defense.

Trivia

  • Tsubasa literally means "wing" in Japanese, and Otori literally means "great bird". The word play of "wing" and "great bird" coincide with his Beyblade being Earth Eagle 145WD.
    • Tsubasa was chosen to have a demonic entity within him as part of a pun on the Japanese name of his Blade, "Earth Aquila 145W" (アースアクイラ Āsu Akuira), with "Aku" (悪) meaning "evil".
  • He was the first blader to ever defeat Ryuga's dark move even before Gingka himself did it, an extremely remarkable feat.
  • Both him and Kyoya came very close to defeating Ryuga, although they both used very different tactics. Tsubasa stored his energy until Ryuga used his dark move, and unleashed Counter Stance to defeat the Dark Move, thus leaving L'Drago seriously weakened. Kyoya on the other hand, taunted Ryuga to battle him using only his own strength, and therefore faced a considerably less powerful version of the Dragon Emperor. It is therefore debatable who is actually stronger between Tsubasa and Kyoya, as even their battle in Metal Masters only resulted in a loss for Tsubasa because the Dark Power completely disoriented him. It is also worth noting that the two have very different battle styles, with Tsubasa relying on strategies and skill, and Kyoya relying on his training and brute force.
  • His English voice actor David Reale, is the same voice actor who voiced Kai Hiwatari in the Original Beyblade Series.
    • Coincidentally, both Kai and Tsubasa possess Beyblades with the spirit of birds.
    • Interestingly enough, Tsubasa became the president of the WBBA, similar to how Kai became the director of the BBA in the Original Series manga.
  • Despite being the 2nd strongest Blader on Team Japan, he is the only person on that team who has not won a battle against Gingka, though he did lose his battle against him on purpose.
