The Victory Tornado (勝利竜巻) is a Special Move that was introduced in the "Beyblade" graphic novel series and is used by Tyson Granger with his Dragoon Victory. The move has also been featured in the "Beyblade" TV series.
Description[]
The anime depict the Victory Tornado as a rapidly rotating vortex cloaking the Beyblade whilst rushing the enemy Beyblade.
The manga depicts the Beyblade generating a multiple-vortex tornado from high-speed rotation, enabling it to fend off multiple opponents.
The PlayStation game "Bakuten Shoot Beyblade 2002 - Beybattle Tournament 2" depicts the move similarly to the manga iteration, with the Beyblade generating a tornado that contains several subvortices rotating around, inside of, and as part of the main vortex.
In The Graphic Novel[]
The Victory Tornado debuted in chapter 2 of volume 7 of the "Beyblade" graphic novel which depicts the battle between Tyson and Ozuma for position of the Bit-Beast, Wolborg, that had been seized moments before after Ozuma defeated Tala. In the ensuing Beybattle, Tyson (using Dragoon V) draws upon his Bit-Beast's power and unleashes the move and handily defeats Ozuma's Flash Leopard Beyblade.
In The TV Series[]
It was first used on Daryl's Darylanzer.
In Video Games[]
Etymology[]
Though the Katakana "ビクトリートルネード" was used as the syllabary for the reading of the Special Move Kanji, using the proper Hiragana gives the name an altered transliteration:
Kanji | 勝利 | 竜巻 |
---|---|---|
Hiragana | しょうり | たつまき |
Transliteration | Shōri | Tatsumaki |
Literal translation | Victory | Tornado |
