The Wide Xtreme Stadium (ワイドエクストリームスタジアム, Waido Ekusutorīmu Sutajiamu) is a stadium released by Takara Tomy as part of the Beyblade X series. It was released in Japan on July 13th, 2024 for 4400円.

It later debuted in western countries as the Wide Beystadium released by Hasbro for $59.99 in the United States.

Description

The Wide Xtreme Stadium features a wide rectangular design and "Xtreme Lines", a set of gears that interact with the gears on a Beyblade's Bit to activate the Xtreme Dash gimmick. Bladers must launch their Beyblades at the 3 designated "Shoot Positions". There are three stadium exits in total. The two corner exits are called "Xtreme Zones" and a 3 point "Xtreme Finish" occurs when a Beyblade is knocked into these zones. On the other side is a wider center "Over Zone" and a 2 point "Over Finish" occurs when a Beyblade is knocked into this zone. Compared to the regular Xtreme Stadium, the position of the zones are swapped. Introduced on July 13th, 2024, it began to be used in official Beyblade Battle Base (B4) events for the initial qualifying tournaments. Instead of 2 Bladers playing the 1on1 Battle format in the Xtreme Stadium, matches were now placed between 3 Bladers in the Wide Xtreme Stadium, which sped up the pace of qualifying tournaments.

Gameplay

The stadium can be used in two ways: in the first method of play, the "5 Point System", only 1 Blader can gain points per round. The last Blader standing receives the combined total of points from the 2 losing Bladers. For example, if the other two Bladers lost via Spin Finish (1 point) and Over Finish (2 points), the last Blader standing will receive 3 points total for that round. The first Blader to reach 5 points will win the match. With this first method of play, the last Blader standing can receive a minimum of 2 points (two Spin Finishes) and up to a maximum of 6 points (two Xtreme Finishes). The expected number of rounds is between 1 to 7.

In the second method of play, the "First to 2 Wins System", if a Blader is the last Blader standing for two rounds, they win the match. The expected number of rounds is between 2 to 4.

Trivia

  • The stadium was first unveiled via a Tweet on December 8, 2023 by the Beyblade X development team.[1] It later appeared at different G1 and G2 Beyblade Battle Base events.[2] Its original tentative name was the Xtreme Stadium for 3 Person Battles (3人対戦用エクストリームスタジアム, 3-Ri Taisen-yō Ekusutorīmu Sutajiamu).
    • This prototype version also featured red Xtreme Lines, rather than the purple Xtreme Lines of the retail product.
  • This is the second Takara Tomy stadium to be released by Hasbro, after the Xtreme Stadium (Tournament Beystadium) released in the same year.
