Wild Wyvern Jerk Gyro (ワイルドワイバーン・ジャーク・ジャイロ, Wairudo Waibān Jāku Jairo) is a Stamina Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dual Layer System. It was released in Japan on October 22nd, 2016 for 972円 as one of eight possible Beyblades in Random Booster Vol. 4 Quad Quetzalcoatl.J.P.
Energy Layer - Wild Wyvern[]
- Main article: Energy Layer - Wild Wyvern
Takara Tomy's Wild Wyvern is a Defense Type Layer that features eight blades that alternate between colored and clear plastic and the head of a dragon, meant to represent this Layer's namesake; the Wyvern, a two-legged winged dragon.
While Wild Wyvern may seem round and thus ideal for Defense at first glance, upon closer inspection it's actually square in shape. Each of the corners of this square shape create points of recoil that make it unsuitable for Defense Combinations. This problem is further exacerbated for Wild Wyvern, which has teeth akin to that of Chaos, which leads to the downfall of this Layer. The teeth are so short that they are unable to withstand the recoil that comes from the square shape, making Wild Wyvern severely prone to losses by Burst.
Forge Disc - Jerk[]
- Main article: Forge Disc - Jerk
Jerk is a round, thick and symmetrical Forge Disc that features a round perimeter made of soft plastic that's attached to the Forge Disc via screws, akin to Magnum and Polish. The soft plastic perimeter features two shield-like bumpers that are placed behind the Forge Disc's prongs. Unlike most Forge Discs, Jerk features a "Bound Defense" gimmick; in this case, the bumpers are designed to push inwards.
Upon impact, during Disc-to-Layer contact, the bumpers will theoretically bend inwards to absorb the shock of the impact and reduce recoil. In practice, this gimmick is rather dysfunctional. First, due to how rare Disc-to-Layer contact occurs, Jerk will rarely make contact with the opponent. Second, Jerk is rather hollow, creating poor Stamina despite the Forge Disc being round in shape. Lastly, the soft plastic bumpers hardly have any flexibility. This, combined with the Forge Disc's short distance between the stadium floor makes Jerk unsuitable for Defense and Stamina Combinations.
Performance Tip - Gyro[]
- Main article: Performance Tip - Gyro
Gyro features a small free-spinning, low angled cone tip and is at the height of a standard Performance Tip. In prime condition, Gyro causes the Beyblade to have a calm movement pattern while the low angle of the tip resists Destabilization and subsequent scrape risks. The free-spinning nature of Gyro allows it to outclass its predecessor Survive in Stamina potential.
