Energy Layer - Winning Valkyrie[]
- Main article: Energy Layer - Winning Valkyrie
Takara Tomy's Winning Valkyrie is an Attack Type Layer that features a feathered, armored face at its center, akin to its predecessor God Valkyrie, meant to represent the Layer's namesake: Odin's handmaidens of Norse mythology. Like its predecessors, Winning Valkyrie features three large wings as the primary points of contact, granting the Layer high Knockout (KO) and Burst Attack potential. Its general shape and size is nearly identical to that of its predecessor Victory Valkyrie. As part of the Cho-Z Layer System, Winning Valkyrie features metal in its design, placed on the three wings.
The inclusion of metal makes Winning Valkyrie heavier than most God Layers and improves Attack potential by increasing the weight of the Layer, granting higher inertia that increases both Knockout and Burst Attack as well as increasing the Layer's Burst Resistance as the high inertia resists teeth skipping, a property that compliments the tall teeth of Winning Valkyrie. Due to these factors and the shape of the blades, Winning Valkyrie performs well in Attack combinations. However, the wings of Winning Valkyrie are at an obtuse angle, moreso than its predecessors, which hinders Smash Attack, though the weight of the Layer can compensate.
Like many other Cho-Z Layers, Winning Valkyrie is imbalanced which increases Burst risk and lowers Stamina. However, these issues can be mitigated with the use of a Level Chip that fits underneath the Layer.
Forge Disc - 8[]
- Main article: Forge Disc - 8
8, like other even numbered Core Discs, is symmetrical and elliptical in shape in order to facilitate a Disc Frame. Each side features four protrusions, each molded into the shape of an "8". Each of the lower loops of the "8"s features gaps, akin to Knuckle, which takes weight away from the center and creates high Outward Weight Distribution (OWD) and subsequent Flywheel Effect, features theoretically perfect for Stamina. Furthermore, 8 is one of the heaviest Discs in the game, heavier than Heavy, Gravity, 2, 4, and 6 and its use can bolster a Beyblade's Knock-Out Resistance and Attack potential. However, like other heavy discs with high Outward Weight Distribution (OWD) such as Gravity and Ring, the use of 8 severely decreases a Beyblade's Burst Resistance as a trade off.
Performance Tip - Guard[]
- Main article: Performance Tip - Guard
Guard features a ball shaped tip surrounded by a downward facing dish that freely moves vertically. In theory the dish is meant to make contact with the stadium floor when the Beyblade is struck, forcing it back upright, acting as brakes to prevent a Knock-Out while the vertical movement of the dish is meant to prevent Stamina loss. In practice however, the vertical movement prevents the dish from Stabilizing a Combination on the shallow curvature of the stadium and because the dish does not spin freely, it causes the Beyblade to accelerate instead of stopping which worsens Destabilization further.
Unlike other ball based Performance Tips, Guard's tip does not features any tabs as their purpose had been integrated into the dish. However, the relatively smooth rim of the dish and its vertical movement nullifies most of its Knock-Out Resistance with greater Stamina loss and the small diameter of the tip does little to stop the Beyblade. While the smooth ball would imply greater Stamina than Defense, the aforementioned dish nullifies any Stamina benefit.
