Wyvron Heavy Accel, known as Wyvern Heavy Accel (ワイバーン・ヘビー・アクセル, Waibān Hebī Akuseru) in Japan, is an Attack Type Beyblade released as part of the Burst System. It was released in Japan on December 26th, 2015 for 864円 as one of eight possible Beyblades in Random Booster Vol. 2 Evil-eye Wing Needle.
Energy Layer - Wyvron
Main article: Energy Layer - Wyvron
Wyvron is a circular, seven-bladed Energy Layer. The center of the Energy Layer features the head of a dragon to represent this Layer's Japanese namesake; a two legged, winged dragon, the Wyvern.
While the spiked design may imply that this Energy Layer has a lot of recoil, the direction of the blades means that they would parry the oncoming hits which reduces recoil. When the opponent's Layer comes into contact with Wyvron, there are two likely outcomes. The opposing Energy Layer hits the outside of Wyvron’s blade, resulting in minimal impact, or the opposing layer hits the empty space between Wyvron’s spikes, causing the opposing Energy Layer to be pushed away. This gives this Energy Layer high Defense potential. Most of the weight of this Energy Layer is focused around the perimeter which combined with its circular shape gives it excellent stamina properties as well.
The Takara Tomy release of Wyvern features four teeth of short length, while this may imply poor Burst resistance, the circular shape of Wyvern produces such little recoil that it can be withstood by its teeth, creating a Layer with high Burst resistance. However, like other pre-Xcalibur Layers, the teeth of Wyvern wear out fairly quickly and thus multiple copies must be purchased in order to replace ones that have worn down.
Forge Disc - Heavy
Main article: Forge Disc - Heavy
Heavy is a primarily circular Forge Disc, sporting a ring-like shape with numerous ridges on its interior that is interrupted by four rectangular protrusions designed to look like armored plates. As its name suggests, Heavy was the heaviest Forge Disc in the Burst System for a considerable period of time, until Gravity, which also weighs 21.6 grams, and Quarter, which weighs 21.8 grams were released. Despite this, Heavy is still one of the heaviest Forge Discs in the game, making it a popular choice for many Bladers. As its weight is a welcome asset to nearly any Beyblade, it enjoys a wide variety of uses on Combinations of all types. Heavy's high weight and compact shape gives it a Centralized Weight Distribution, making it particularly useful for Burst Attack as it will maximize the RPM of the Beyblade. This same weight distribution also makes it considerably more difficult to Burst than Gravity, the other disc in its weight class, at the cost of a significant amount of Stamina. Because of this, it is a better option for a KO Defense Combination than Gravity as KO Defense Combinations rely on high friction and weight to remain in the stadium, at the same time increasing their vulnerability to Bursting. However, due to its weight, Heavy is still more prone to Bursting than most lighter competitive Forge Discs such as Spread, Knuckle, and Armed.
Performance Tip - Accel
Main article: Performance Tip - Accel
Accel features a plastic flat tip with a small diameter, akin to Flat from Metal Fight Beyblade, and sits at the standard height. The center of the Driver also contains an embossed logo featuring a stylized letter A for easy differentiation from other Drivers. Due to the surface area, Accel will create an aggressive, and if launched at an angle, somewhat easily controllable movement pattern. In terms of speed, Accel is faster than Blow but is slower than Xtreme, capable of reaching and stalling on the Tornado Ridge. Due to the plastic construction, Accel is an excellent choice for both Mobile Stamina and Attack/Stamina Balance Combinations. Furthermore, the solid construction also ensures that Accel will not wear out like other Tips such as Xtreme nor be damaged like Zephyr.
However, Accel's plastic construction is also a weakness as Attack Combinations using Accel can lose their Banking Pattern somewhat easily, especially if the Combinations are unbalanced. Furthermore, the low friction means that Accel is liable to self-Knock-Outs.
