- This article is about the Hasbro release. For the Takara Tomy release, see Xiphoid Xcalibur Xanthus Sword'-1.
Xiphoid Xcalius X8 Xanthus-Q Xtend+-Q+Sword-1 is a Balance and Attack Type Beyblade that is a part of the Burst System as well as the QuadDrive System and the QuadStrike System. It was released in western countries as a part of the Xcalius Power Speed Launcher Set for USD$24.99 in the United States.
It is the successor to Sieg Xcalibur 1 Iron in the anime and Breaker Xcalius X4 1' Sword-S in the toyline.
Strike Chip - Xcalius X8
- Main article: Strike Chip - Xcalius X8
Hasbro's Xcalius X8 is a right-spin Strike Chip that features a large sword representing the Strike Chip's namesake: the legendary sword Excalibur from Arthurian legend. Xcalius X8 has an above average weight for Strike Chips and average Burst Resistance.
Unlike its Takara Tomy counterpart, Xcalius X8 does not have any metal or the "BU Lock" and "One Hit Mode" gimmicks.
QS Blade - Xiphoid
- Main article: QS Blade - Xiphoid
Hasbro's Xiphoid is a right-spin Attack Type QS Blade based on Takara Tomy's Xiphoid BU Blade. Xiphoid has a blocky shape similar to its Takara Tomy counterpart, but lacks any metal, being made completely of a single plastic piece. While the weight distribution is still imbalanced to an extent, the effect is not as notable as the Takara Tomy version, which focuses the weight at a sword tip-like protrusion. The sword tip-like protrusion of Hasbro's Xiphoid is noticeably shorter and rounder than the original, and thus is no longer the primary contact point of the QS Blade. Like other QD Blades, Xiphoid can switch between Apex and Core Modes by swapping the position of the Gravity Ring from the top of the Blade (Apex) to below it (Core).
Gravity Ring - 1
- Main article: Gravity Ring - 1
Hasbro's 1 is a Gravity Ring based on Takara Tomy's 1 Armor. As such it has the same asymmetrical design as Takara Tomy's 1. Unlike its Takara Tomy counterpart however, it is made of plastic instead of metal, and as such its weight has been reduced. The position of the point where weight is supposed to be concentrated has also been moved, to align with the modified design of Hasbro's Xiphoid QS Blade.
In theory, the asymmetrical design of 1 creates an imbalanced weight distribution that increases Attack power. In practice however, since Gravity Rings like 1 are plastic instead of metal like Takara Tomy's Armors, the differences in performance are negligible.
Forge Disc - Xanthus-Q
- Main article: Forge Disc - Xanthus-Q
Hasbro's Xanthus-Q is a QS Disc based on Takara Tomy's Xanthus. As such, it has an asymmetrical shape like its Takara Tomy counterpart, which is intended to align with similarly imbalanced Layers such as the Xiphoid QS Blade. However, unlike its Takara Tomy counterpart, Xanthus-Q does not consist of a inner metal piece and outer plastic piece; it is instead a single metal piece, with a perimeter mimicking the design of the plastic piece of Xanthus. Xanthus-Q also lacks the "BU Lock" gimmick, featuring the "Xn" abbreviation in place of the BU Locks of the original Xanthus. Like other QD and QS Discs, Xanthus-Q is hollowed out on its underside, reducing its weight by about 9 grams. At an average weight of 23.5 grams, Xanthus-Q is the lightest QD/QS Disc released. As Xanthus-Q is purely a weaker version of the original Xanthus, there is no reason to use Xanthus-Q over Xanthus.
Performance Tip - Xtend+-Q
- Main article: Performance Tip - Xtend+-Q
Xtend+-Q is Hasbro's QuadDrive counterpart to Xtend+. Despite its name, it bears almost no resemblance to Xtend+, or even Xtend. While Xtend+ featured a mode change gimmick and a conical shape with a sharp tip, Xtend+-Q features a cylindrical shape with a flat tip, similar to Dimensioning-SP.
Like all QuadDrive Performance Tips, Xtend+-Q has two attachment points that can be used to attach an Armor Tip, switching it to "Plus Mode". In this mode, Xtend+-Q is essentially replaced by the Armor Tip, and the height becomes similar to a SpeedStorm Performance Tip.
Armor Tip - Sword
- Main article: Armor Tip - Sword
Hasbro's Sword is a QuadStrike Armor Tip version of the Attack Type Sword Performance Tip. Like other Armor Tips, it can be attached to QuadDrive Performance Tips via two attachment points. When attached to a QuadDrive Performance Tip, it is referred to as the "Plus Mode", essentially replacing the QuadDrive Performance Tip as the main contact point with the Beystadium. The subsequent height becomes similar to that of a SpeedStorm Performance Tip.
As a QuadStrike Armor Tip, the Sword Armor Tip does not retain the general shape of its Performance Tip counterpart, although some of its design is reminiscent of the Performance Tip. The Sword Armor Tip is instead wide and round, akin to a HyperSphere Performance Tip, which is intended to interact with a QuadStrike System Beystadium.
