Zwei Longinus Drake Spiral' Metsu (ツヴァイロンギヌス・ドレイク・スパイラルダッシュ・滅, Tsuvuai Ronginusu Doreiku Supairaru Dasshu Metsu) is an Attack Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Gatinko Layer System. It was released as a Booster in Japan on June 22nd, 2019 for 1296円.

Gatinko Chip - Longinus

Main article: Gatinko Chip - Longinus

Longinus is a left-spin Gatinko Chip that features two dragon heads representing the Gatinko Chip's namesake. Longinus has a standard weight for Gatinko Chips, and high Burst Resistance. Its high Burst Resistance is due to its two hard locks, akin to Valkyrie. This gives Longinus high Burst Resistance, even when a Dash Driver is not used. Its symmetrical shape also gives it good balance, and making it one of the best options for left-spin Layer Bases. When paired with the Goku Layer Weight, it can even rival Diabolos 1 in terms of sheer weight, and additionally has much better balance, making it an ideal choice for left-spin Layer Bases.

Hasbro's Pro Series Lúinor is virtually unchanged from Takara Tomy's Longinus. but manufactured with weaker materials.

Layer Weight - Metsu

Main article: Layer Weight - Metsu

Metsu is a Layer Weight with four hexagons, two on each side, resulting in a Z shape. Its weight is distributed at each of these hexagons, allowing it to synergize well with two-sided Layer Bases such as Judgement and Zwei. However, it is not as heavy as the Goku Layer Weight, and thus is outclassed in Attack Combinations. While it is lighter than the Ten Layer Weight, Metsu has a superior weight distribution for Attack Combinations, and thus can be used as a second choice Layer Weight if Goku is unavailable.

Layer Base - Zwei

Main article: Layer Base - Zwei

Zwei is a four-bladed Layer Base with two small blades and two larger blades with the signature metal dragon heads of the Longinus line of Energy Layers. These downward sloping blades result in an extremely hard-hitting and heavy Layer Base, with high amounts of Smash Attack. It is this design that makes Zwei one of the only viable Left-Spin Attack Type Layer Bases. Zwei, along with Judgement, ensures that Stamina Type Combinations do not dominate the use of Layer Bases. While Zwei does not have a Burst Stopper like Judgement, Zwei does not wear and makes an ideal option for Left-Spin Attack Combinations. Furthermore, unlike Judgement, Zwei is almost exclusively used in conjunction with rubber Attack Type Performance Tips, and cannot use plastic Performance Tips such as Spiral' well due to its heavy weight.

Hasbro's Pro Series Zwei is virtually unchanged from Takara Tomy's Zwei. but manufactured with weaker materials.

Performance Tip - Spiral'

Main article: Performance Tip - Spiral'

Spiral' is a flat tip with spikes protruding outwards and pointing to the left. Spiral' creates high speed, greater than Assault, with its large surface area. However, due to the wide tip and the fact that the tip is made out of plastic, Spiral' is incapable of maintaining a banking pattern and the rough perimeter creates poor Stamina issues as well. The tip therefore, essentially spins around its opponent, wasting what little Stamina it has.

Like other Dash Performance Tips, Spiral' features a stronger spring lock, increasing the Performance Tip's Burst Resistance.

Trivia

  • Like its predecessors Lost Longinus Nine Spiral, Nightmare Longinus Destroy, and Bloody Longinus 13 Jolt, Zwei Longinus' name is derived from "zwei", 2 in the German language, and St. Longinus, the Roman soldier who pierced Jesus during his Crucifixion in Christian mythology.
    • Zwei Longinus' avatar's snout structure and dual jaws is reminiscent to the head and two jaws of the Celestial Dragon of Osiris Egyptian God card from the first Yu-Gi-Oh! anime and card game.
  • The word "zwei" in its name is further enforced by the two dragon heads on the Gatinko chip.
  • This is the first Longinus Beyblade from Beyblade Burst to not be owned by Lui Shirosagi.
